Welcome to Friends of Palmdale, we have a group of volunteers that visit the park and conduct special projects, meet, and enjoy light refreshments whilst having a chat, enjoying the connection with others.

Anzac Day Services - 2017 were held at Palmdale and Greenway. “ANZAC” was the name given to a combined force of First Australian Imperial Force and New Zealand Army troops who landed on Turkey's Gallipoli Peninsula at around dawn on Sunday, the 25th day of April, 1915, barely nine months after the outbreak of World War I.

Memorials pay respect to the departed, but they are really for the living – they provide a sense of place and leave a tangible record of a loved life. Memories are precious and it is appropriate to share them with future generations. They can play an important role in the grieving process by forming a link between the past, the present and the future.
When someone dies many and varied issues can arise. One of the most fundamental is how the deceased should be remembered after... the funeral service has been conducted. At such an emotionally charged time, it’s a significant decision which should not be made in haste, without due consideration to the significant consequences that may arise. Choosing a place with a permanent memorial where family and friends can visit is something worth considering for a number of very important reasons. A memorial is a focus for reflection and a permanent marker for a life lived where family and friends and future generations can come to remember and pay their respects to their heritage.

Also, on 4 January 2016 the standard penalty for mobile phone offences rose to four demerit points. Since the end of last year, mobile phone offences have been included in double demerit periods. This means those caught talking or texting illegally while driving during this Queen’s Birthday weekend wi...ll incur eight demerit points – a huge amount when the threshold on unrestricted licences is 13 points.
The double demerit point scheme now applies for the following types of offences: ◾Speeding ◾Illegal use of mobile phones ◾Not wearing a seatbelt ◾Riding without a helmet

this company only requires 1 parents signature and will not bother to find out which parent had custody or if the custody was 50/50 they will only consider the 1st parent to sign, and are not respectful that both parents need to be considered! So to all the parents out there who have lost a child and may be divorced, Palmdale only listens to the parent who signs up with them first!

This has had a devastating impact on our family, making an extremely difficult time so much worse. In this day and age we are sure we aren't the only ones it effects!

I hope that Palmdale will update their policy to make it fairer to all families
