Pillars Of Strength

About Pillars Of Strength

Providing TimeOut and In-Hospital support programs for bereaved dads and for dads while their child is ill in hospital. Fathers also need support, yet they get little recognition. They need to look after themselves so that they can support their family.

Pillars Of Strength Description

Every year in Australia
• 68, 000 children are hospitalised
• 2, 500 babies are stillborn
• Around 44, 000 newborn babies require the help of a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or Special Care Nursery
• Up to 1, 000 babies sadly lose their fight for life
• Parental relationships breakdown

The added stress placed on dads and their families during this time is almost impossible for others to comprehend.
Pillars of Strength is an Australian first, a charity providing ‘TimeOut’ and In Hospital support programs for bereaved dads and for dads while their child is ill in hospital.
It was formed to fill a gap in the men’s health and mental health support sector, designed for dads so they can support others, particularly the baby’s mother.
