All are snobs and rude.

One of my favourite spots in Potts Points. Great little neighbourhood spot with a friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Great local bookshop. The team are incredibly helpful and will help you to find that special book.

Very helpful friendly lady helped me find the book I was looking for. Busy, bright store. Would recommend. Important to keep this small business supported.

This is a great little local book store. We've truly forgotten that feeling of purchasing a book after searching aisle after aisle or just pop a book out and give it a bit of read. Small businesses such as this should be valued.

At the Opera House for the launch of Molly The Pig. #ild2018

Thanks to Helen Pitt for coming in and signing an enormous pile of her book The House. Just in time for Father’s Day. @allenandunwin #pottspointbookshop #bookstagram #sydneyoperahouse #authorvisit

Love food? Love meeting like minded people? In just over 2 weeks the Food & Words Festival is on at the Sydney Mint (Saturday 15th September). We will be there as the booksellers with a fantastic selection of recent cookbooks and a few yet to be released books. There is a an excellent line up of authors and you will be invigorated by what we have found to be a really inspiring day.

This Saturday is Love You Bookshop Day, and this year we're celebrating the people who truly matter —you! Our perennial readers, our loyal and cherished customers, who make standing behind the shop counter and waxing lyrically about books such a joy.
Join us from 11am until 1pm when artist Leo Greenfield will be offering portraits of our customers in his distinct style. While you're waiting, you'll be able to peruse an exhibition of work by our bookseller and photographer Tim Denoodle — whose work you can check out on his Instagram or in his book Sydney in Photos!
And of course, there are plenty of new books to browse. We can't wait to see you!

We’ve had *such* a busy day, we almost forgot to mention — it’s our 11th Birthday!
🎈 🎂 🎉 👏
Thankfully one of our lovely customers brought us this bunch of flowers to amplify festivities (which involved a lot of box unpacking).
... Here’s to eleven more brilliant years with you, our wonderful community of readers!

We were thrilled Trent Dalton stopped by to sign copies of his amazing new book BOY SWALLOWS UNIVERSE. It’s an absolute cracker; heart wrenching and hilarious.

Next month the Monday Night Bookclub is discussing Nancy Mitford's 'Love in a Cold Climate,' a funny and subversive take on the self-assurance of a 1940s aristocratic family.
The Crime Bookclub is discussing Derek B. Miller's 'American By Day;' a thrilling race-against-time crime story, a personal journey through grief. and a meditation on the world in which we live.
Hope to see you there!

A whole bunch of exciting new releases have just arrived in the shop!
Tim loved Paolo Cognetti's THE EIGHT MOUNTAINS and has proclaimed it is already in contention to be his book of the year. Perfect fans of Elena Ferrante, it's about the friendship between two young Italian boys from different backgrounds and how their connection evolves and challenges them throughout their lives.
Simon binged Laura Lippman's amazing noir thriller SUNBURN in one night. Obviously inspired by... inspired by James M. Cain’s classic “The Postman Always Rings Twice,” it's his crime book of the month.
And Naomi devoured ASYMMETRY by rising literary star Lisa Halliday. This one's getting a lot of buzz, and you're going to want to be part of the conversation!

In April, our Monday Night Bookclub is discussing staff-favourite 'The Immortalists' by Chloe Benjamin while the Crime Bookclub will chat about Stuart Turton's 'The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle.'
We hope to see you there!

Every week we gather around for a powwow about the books we're loving.
Anna's reading Tara Westover's EDUCATED, a stunning new memoir about family, loss and the struggle for a better future. Michael has jumped on the Tayari Jones AN AMERICAN MARRIAGE bandwagon, and we welcome him to this emotional freight train of a novel. Naomi has dived into Jordan B. Petersen's 12 RULES FOR LIFE to see what all the fuss is about And Simon's invested in Sarah Epstein's unputdownable YA psychological thriller, SMALL SPACES.
What are you turning the pages of this week?
