To show our love for the Turkish Get Up and Down, here is our incredible coach Leon demonstrating this move again as one of his favourite all-round moves.
The beauty of this specific exercise is it can be regressed for a total beginner and build up over programs and it can also be made much more challenging as each individual improves.

How do you warm up?
So many people warm up on a bike, which is fine, but we can do so much better to prime and prepare our bodies for the workout ahead; if we plan to use all of our joints and move our entire body it makes sense to warm up the entire body.
Each member gets their own version of a warm-up specific to their goals, range of movement and program.
... Here our Athlete Sam is working through a pretty tough warm up to ensure her body is ready for the hard workout ahead. When we are able to move in functional ways, using movements that challenge the body in multiple positions and directions we become more mobile, flexible and stronger, it's a win, win, win!

This is so individual to each of us, for some it’s having the strength and stamina to continue surfing, swimming, walking our dogs, being active parents and grandparents.
It might be to get back out there after an injury and learn to trust our bodies again.

Hate lunges? You need to come to Primal!
If you hate lunges its because you haven't tried our Primal collection of lunges, all of our members love the variety of lunges we give them in semi-private training and classes.

Here are some more advanced moves to work and move the entire body as well as the core...these movements will set you up for great mobility and longevity as well as a strong body that can move well. We have a full tutorial on our Primal Members Group on Facebook breaking down the moves. We've had a few questions this week about the best core exercises and how to work it without having to hold a plank, so we will cover this over a few posts.
When it comes to a beginners program who hasn't trained for a while the beast hold can be a great choice of exercise. With the knees being under the body there is less pressure in the wrists than a plank and the beast has unlimited potential to progress as you get stronger, mastering the beast hold and limb lift gives you an amazing foundation to continue improving with each new program.
Try adding a 5-20 second beast hold into your workout and see how it feels, then stay tuned for more options to move forward

Trying to slow down the clock, and speed up tissue recovery, Primal’s #bossman, now the team member with the oldest birth certificate, MJ has recently discovered CRYO and after the first 5 sessions, can safely say that it’s “bloody cold” for 3 mins at -130 degrees Celsius. Here is our amazing coach Leon taking Coby through our Animal Flow ladder in this months FIT class, we do 5 reps on each side of each move, then 4, then 3, all the way down to 1 rep of each! It’s tougher than it looks and gets a serious sweat on!!
