Purple Card Project

Purple Card Project offers a holistic approach to environmental project management. We will enable communities within the Hunter Region to have a positive environmental impact by connecting people with great ideas for environmental projects with the consultation, community support, and funding they need to bring their projects to life. At the same time, we will help tackle the issue of gift waste by allowing people to support projects on behalf of someone as a gift. Our gift cards will be printed onto seeded, recycled paper that can be planted after use and grown into something beautiful, closing the loop on gift giving. Cards will be manufactured locally and will feature printed designs from local artists. Our online platform will have resources for people wanting to run their own projects, and will allow individuals to financially support projects through a crowdfunding process. Our gift cards will be loaded up with gift vouchers that giftees will then be able to put towards an environmental project of their choosing. We have run two successful pilot projects; the first provided clean-up kits to Newcastle locals to remove litter from their local areas, and the second provided community funding to Smokva Community Garden in Wickham to help them fund a food forest. We are ready and excited to take the next steps towards officially launching in 2022 so that we can begin to amplify our impact in the Hunter Region. We look forward to a future of circular solutions, cleaner parks and waterways, and communities that are inspired, empowered, and activated to explore local solutions to environmental issues.
