Tried to Rip me off by over a 1000 bucks i got a quote for. Wanted 1720 i got it elsewhere for 620. Rediculous.

These guys are crooks, stay away!! Worst repair I have ever seen of any workshop. Needed tyres replaced and they forced me to get brakes done saying that mine were not roadworthy and its illegal for them to let me take my bike away they didnt replace them!

Also had my regulator rectifier replaced and thanks to the dodgy repair (attached) they did my bike turned off while i was riding it, thank god i wasnt injured.

Would stay away from these guys if you dont want dramas.

I never found the guys at Racecourse Motors to be rude or unhelpful, but this is not a repair shop for Japanese bikes. The staff seem reluctant to order or obtain replacement parts for Jap bikes. They seem more equipped for Italian bikes and scooters plus those cheap Chinese scooters that have come onto the market in recent years. Reasonably quick service and turnaround time, although I suspect they might be over-stating the actual hours of labour involved. I also noticed (on several occasions) that some of the work I requested (on the job sheet) had not been done - some things were forgotten, ignored or just not done. Overall, in my opinion, this is not the place to get a Japanese bike repaired. I now go to Sydney City Motorcycles (on Princes Highway in Kogarah) where labour is $30 less per hour than Racecourse Motors, and the service and people are ethical and conscientious. They also give generous discounts on labour if you've been there a few times. I also noticed that Racecourse Motors prices on parts are much higher than Sydney City Motorcyles. (A new ignition/seat-lock assembly at SCM was $478 - or $660 at Racecourse Motors.) They always seem to charge a lot more than other repairers if you want Japanese bike parts.

These guys are SCAM ARTISTS. They will lie about the work done and the parts "replaced", they charge excessive hours for simple jobs at a rate of over $140 per hour. When asked for a final cost, they will LIE.
They are full of rubbish and generally don't give a hoot about fixing your bike.
SCAM ARTISTS. The guys at the front counter are sleazy con-men and the "mechanics" out the back don't seem to have any eye for detail or proper training. AVOID.

Also I have to asssume most of the reviews on here giving it 5 stars, are totally faked.

User

Highly professional shop and even better mechanics. I brought my pride and joy to them and they helped me with any issue I had. Very wide stock of great great as well. 5 stars for sure. Recommended!!!!

User

Great service on my Triumph Thruxton, can definitely feel the love in my bike. General service ($300) and brakes front and back done ($249), can't complain. Asked if they could stiffen my rear suspension and they did it on the spot free of charge. Good mechanics that know a thing or 2. Did I mention same day service on a Saturday?!

I'll be back Racecourse.
Cheers.

Please don't bother walking in the service was appalling. Little did they know I had money to purchase a scooter and all the extra equipment right then and there, maybe the guy sitting behind the counter should have been bothered to get up off his seat and at least give me eye contact instead grunting the price with his head stuck into s computer.

The shop obliviously has far more money than they need. Don't go in if you want service.

User

Great scooter service for 170$. Courtesy scooter to borrow for free. I was very dummy on mechanic and bought a 2nd hand scooter from Gumtree and want to do a check. I asked Major service but they recommended me minor is enough. I took my scooter there after work and they lend me a courtesy scooter for free. Next day it's done and I went to switch my scooter back.

User

Nice showroom with a good range of motorcycles. Went there to have a look at some scooters.

User

Blatant ripoff merchants. Charged 4 hours for a relatively simple electrical problem on my scooter which couldn't have taken a decent mechanic more than an hour and a half, max. They refused to explain the excessive time cost, only giving a smug shrug of the shoulders. Also replaced parts which weren't broken. Worse thing was the couldn't look me in the eye when questioned. Use at your own peril. I won't be.
