Extremely disappointed! We paid and booked for the Heritage suite but there was nothing heritage about it!!! Room wasn't clean, neither was the kitchen or bathroom!! Bins were still full of rubbish from the guests prior and loud music late into the night (2am) from the functions in the Ramada resort function rooms downstairs! Would never stay here again if you paid me!!!! Beaches in Shoal Bay however are so beautiful however would never stay at the Ramada!!!! Have never felt so disappointed in accomodation as much as here!!!! An absolute disgrace!! I've never reviewed anything like this before however if this review prevents another couple from making the same mistake as we did you'd choose your accomodation more wisely!!

They sell your personal information to third parties. Ever since I used this hotel a could of years ago, and another in Nelson Bay several years ago, I receive unsolicited calls from third party Oceanroad Holidays. This has been going on for over 6 years now. No matter how many times I tell this company not to call me, they still call. What worse is I foolishly purchased their product back when they first called my only to be deceived and ripped off. The fact is, the Ramada has no right to use the information in the first place. Disgraceful.

Comparing the service received for price paid, I feel this hotel is worthy of a 5 star review. I was quite surprised by the room. $50 late checkout fee is applicable (if available) to delay check out from 10am to 1pm. Reception staff were happy to remove the fee when I checked out at 10:30am due to work! Quite impressed.

Great hotel, reception desk was really amazing and 24/7 staffed. They assisted me and my partner with taxis and the best way to travel around town. On one occasion my partner had an allergic reaction and one staff member in particular drove us to the hospital to try and get medicine (was the only place open to get antihistamines at such a late hour).

Great pools (they have an outdoor pool and an indoor lap pool), the gym was okay but quite limited (if you want to do cardio then it will be good for you).

Only negative was that we had organised to stay in a room with a full sized kitchen, and were promised that kitchen size; however when we arrived our room only had a kitchenette. This was quickly fixed up though and we got a free bottle of wine!

I'm fairly picky, but I would go back.

Front line staff were fantastic especially with sick children during our stay. Unfortunately though our room could have been cleaner and we still had to ask for the amenities for our kids that we had booked and called ahead to check that they'd been booked. Additionally 1 of the 2 lifts was out of order for upgrades when we arrived and the other broke down during our stay which wasn't ideal especially when staying on the 7th floor.

Very dated rooms, feels as though I travelled back in time to a 90's Butlins apartment. Brown carpets and furniture that could be placed in a museum. Out on the balcony, dead beetles/bugs scattered across, obviously an issue around the apartments. Slightly concerning and scary to know. One lift was out of service, though the other lift also broke on the first day we arrived. No other choice but to use the stairs up 5 flights. Some guests had to carry luggage up and down flights of stairs to get out/in, which isn't really acceptable. Staircase looks like its out of a Hollywood film where people get murdered, Not impressed. Reception desk staff are friendly, though as mentioned, I would rate this as a 1 star apartment due to its aging appearance. Though from research, this was the best looking apartments around, which is slightly scary for Shoal Bays tourism! Area is quaint and nice, but apartments are more like shady motels.

Getting there. It's a new resort for Ramada, but compared to the others, it's pretty ordinary. Beds are hard and the sofa desperately needed replacement as you could feel the slats under your bum. You also don't get a toaster despite having a kitchenette.

That said, the pools and spas were good.

King size bed with a fantastic view. Friendly service and very accommodating to our 9 month old. Nice facilities and close to shops/cafes on Shoal Bay's beachfront

Had a drink and something to eat at the hotel restaurant, location and service was great. Hotel is on a great position right on shoal bay.

I checked in at about 1pm and kept getting phone calls around 3:30pm with messages letting me know I could check in. Love the fact that you keep clients' follow-ups a priority but it showed a lack of communication behind the scenes. Besides that, the decor and furnishings were outdated (this includes the hallways). We checked out 6 hours after checking in. On another note, all staff were very friendly and helpful.
