The RateSetter group was founded in the United Kingdom in 2009 and is now the largest P2P lender in Europe. Seeing that Australian consumers could benefit from RateSetter’s business model, Daniel Foggo started working with RateSetter to bring the group to Australia in 2012. RateSetter Australia, which is majority Australian-owned, launched in November 2014 and as the first P2P lender to be licensed by ASIC to accept investments from retail investors, not just the very wealthy.

Globally RateSetter has set many P2P industry ‘firsts’ in its journey to make P2P lending simpler, and safer. These innovations include the development of our unique Provision Fund to help protect investors from borrower late payments or default, and introducing innovative new investment options that allow investors to lend for as short a period as one month.
