SUE HEALEY Sue Healey is a Sydney-based choreographer, filmmaker and installation artist.
Experimenting with form and perception, Healey creates dance for diverse spaces and contexts: theatres, galleries and the camera. She has lectured and taught at many dance institutions including; VCA, WAAPA, UNSW & NZSD for the past 35 years. Healey received the prestigious Creative Fellowship in 2014 from the Australia Council for Arts, and was made an Honorary Fellow of the Victorian College of the Arts, University of Melbourne 2015. Sue has won 5 Australian Dance Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Dance on Film/New Media and Independent Dance. She has created 10 major films with cinematographer Judd Overton, her key film collaborator. Sue is currently filming and creating On View: Hong Kong and Japan, produced by West Kowloon Cultural District Authority and the Aichi Arts Centre, to become a major performance installation that will tour Asia in 2019/20. suehealey.com

The focus is on work processes and the complex relationships between artists and their everyday lives.
DanceLIFE Sessions are funded by the City of Sydney and provide a ‘sounding board’ for a multitude of artists’ experiences and is open to all who identify with being part of the professional independent dance sector in Sydney.

CLASS WITH JULIAN WONG This week we'll take a look at beginnings, and what that has to do with developing a sense of wholeness and power in movement. The basic lessons will be drawn from the Feldenkrais Method.
JULIAN WONG Julian is a Sydney-based dancer and musician. His practice is grounded in the somatic explorations of the Feldenkrais Method, as well as a background in martial arts.
CLASS WITH RHIANNON Rhiannon’s class practices different connections in the body with a focus on weight, release, efficiently and ease. The class begins with floor work that practices simple pathways for integrating the whole body. It progresses to standing exercises and phrases which focus on efficient use of weight, momentum and the circularity of the body. With good beats, lots of moving through the space and influences of somatic and release techniques, Rhiannon creates a warm and generous class environment that prioritises the pleasure of moving.
RHIANNON NEWTON Rhiannon is a dancer and choreographer based in Sydney, Australia. Her practice focuses on the intersection of live-ness and repetition, exploring how knowledge, change and consensus emerge through processes of repeating. Rhiannon's work has been presented at Dance Massive Festival and Dancehouse (Melbourne), Brisbane Festival and Metro Arts (Brisbane), Critical Path, Shopfront Arts, Firstdraft and PACT (Sydney), The Lock-up (Newcastle), The Judson Church (New York), Performing Arts Forum (France), Nagib On Stage (Slovenia) and Tanzhaus Zurich (Switzerland). She works as a performer with artists such as Rosalind Crisp, Mette Edvardsen, Martin Del Amo, Paea Leach and Brooke Stamp. Rhiannon co-facilitates First Run Sydney, is on the board of ReadyMade Works Studio and lectures in dance at the Australian College of Physical Education. In 2018 she is the Dancehouse Housemate associate artist and the Create NSW Emerging Performing Artist Fellow.
