Recfishing Research was established in 2005 to improve investment and the return on investment in recreational fishing research, development and extension.
Recfishing Research Description
A Steering Committee comprising 8 members from a range of disciplines relevant to recreational fishing and research provides strategic guidance to Recfishing Research.
Recfishing Research maintains an annual Business Plan that identifies the key national priorities for research, development and extension. Recfishing Research takes a proactive role in fostering the development of projects to address the national priorities.
Taking a proactive role involves:
Identifying the key questions that need to be addressed
Determining the best way in which they can be addressed
Engaging with the people /groups that are capable of addressing the questions
