Reflexologists are working with cancer patients at The Chris O'Brien Lifehouse Centre at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney. They have also been working with patients at Sydney Adventist Hospital, Wahroonga for a number of years.

Reflexology is a powerful therapy in its ability to work with both the circulatory system and lymphatic system. There are over 7, 000 nerve endings combined in the feet and hands which explains why we feel so much better after Reflexology. These nerve endings also contain innumerable energy meridians (meridians of ki) that are energetically connected to the vital organs and areas of the central nervous system. It is believed that a Reflexologist can help relieve pain and restore the body's natural chemical and neurological balance by applying pressure and manually massaging or manipulating energy meridians on the feet and hands. It has also been estimated that over 75% of all illness is stress related.

The feet are a perfect microcosm or mini map of the whole body. All the organs, glands and body parts represented in the foot are laid out in the same arrangement as in the body. Your feet really do tell a story about your health, particularly to a professional Reflexologist. They represent you as a whole. However, it is important to know that a Reflexologist is not a General Practitioner and cannot diagnose.
