Appen is currently working to develop a speech recognition software and we are looking for native speakers of 12 different languages to help us build and improve this speech technology in a recording session in Sydney.
The languages are:
o Gulf Arabic... o UK and Irish English o EU French o German (Only from Germany) o Italian o Turkish o Australian English o Dutch (Only from Netherlands) o Polish o EU Portuguese o Russian o EU Spanish
Participants who are invited to participate in the project will be required to read and speak 150 prompts displayed on a screen whilst being recorded for the purposes of improving speech recognition systems. Speakers who are invited to come in to do a recording will be reimbursed AUD $60 for their time.
The project will take place in our office Chatswood, Sydney (5 minutes’ walk from Chatswood train station).

The Sporting Shooters Association of Australia NSW will be at the Festival with their mobile shooting range, on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 March. Persons over the age of 12 can have a go at shooting under supervision of shooting safety officers. The officers will also educate about guns and rifles.
