I passed by Rochefort Tailors in the St James Trust Building and was immediately intrigued by the shopfront of their old-school bespoke tailoring workshop. I wandered in to have a chat with them with a view of potentially having a three-piece suit bespoke tailored for my wedding.

Shortly after meeting Shane and Jack I knew I had stumbled into the right place at the right time and met the guys who I felt confident I could trust with making a suit for the most important day of my life.

From our first consult, their attention to detail and professionalism was impeccable. Their knowledge and experience of tailoring is nothing I have ever experienced before. The result was a three-piece suit, shirt, tie and braces which all fits and looks like no other suit I have ever owned. It fits like a glove and suits my body style. Their knowledge of cuts, fabrics, material and fittings is second to none. We even had a consultation to ensure the suit and tie matched the colour of my bride-to-be’s dress. They noticed a couple of issues with her dress which they fixed on the spot, without notice, no fuss…no problem.

Their service, quality and of course the final product are amazing. Nothing was ever a problem for Shane and Jack they were an absolute pleasure to deal with. I can’t recommend them highly enough.

My next suit will definitely be another Rochefort suit.

The men working there were all class. They were extremely passionate about their craft and the quality of their suits reflect that. The store has a classic old school feel about it and Shane and his men made the experience a lot of fun. I'll be getting all of my suits from them from now on. I have never had a suit fit so well.

After spending a lot of time and having many conversations with retailers in high end luxury clothes stores it was refreshing to meet people that are highly knowledgeable, reasonably priced, and not just trying to push a product on to the consumer.

As someone who knows exactly how they want their clothes and outfits to look and is incredibly detailed oriented it was great to meet Shane and Jack. They both have made many recommendations that have turned out perfectly.

Anyone who cares about their clothes and customer service will feel at home.

I am re-reviewing my previous post as a result of a new order. I've been a client of Rochefort over a number of years, after some bitter sweet experiences (many delays) I had promised not to come back. However I decided to give Shane and Co a last chance. Three weeks ago I ordered 4 shirts and they committed to deliver within 3 weeks. I am happy to say that the shirts took 2.5 weeks to arrive and everything went very smooth. Rochefort has made some changes and they appear to be much better staffed than before so I am re-reviewing from 2 to 5 stars... Thanks Shane!

Over the last few years I have had a shirt, a couple of ties and now, most recently, a suit made by Rochefort, and I don't mind saying I look pretty damned good when I'm wearing them. The clothes themselves are superb with fantastic attention to detail, beautiful fabrics expertly draped to improve the shape of my not-so-perfect body. The other reason I keep going back, though, is because Shane and his staff are so personable, accommodating and pleasant to work with - always sensitive to how much you know about clothes and what it is you actually want, they are friendly and helpful in the best possible traditions of the tailoring trade.

Well, I think this review is way over-due (about 15 months)...I normally hate to give bad reviews, but I've been reminded "rip off" too frequent so I have to share.

I bought a Givenchy suit on my trip to Paris and the suit costs me 1500 EUR. I didn't got a chance to alter it as I didn't spent much time there. Cut the long story short, the suit was for my wedding so I thought I should give the alteration job to a "Pro" rather than looksmart franchise, stupid me, I was wrong.

For the suit, there were two areas need to be fixed, shorten the sleeves and shorten the pants. I've been quoted more than $200 for the job (can't remember the exact figure) with a timeframe of just over one week.

I did alternation with Look Smart previously so I know exactly how this suppose to be done.

One the due date, I have not been notified in anyway that my suit is ready for collection. So I called around 10:30 and been advised it should be ready in 15min. I went to pick it up around my lunch break and been told not ready.. No apology whatsoever, instead, I've been told to come back around 4pm that day.

I did came back 4:30pm and saw my suit there. Apart from the "Customer Service" problem, lets talk about the suit.

1) The sleeves, as you know there should be a gap between the buttons and the edge of the sleeve so the suit looks "normal", when I got my suits, the button is so close with the edge and looks weird. Clearly they just cut the sleeve from the edge to make it short (the easy way) and did not move the button up!

2) The pants have been shortened but still way to long, I raised the issue with the lady who served me and she said my pants is slim fit and because my shoe is big, therefore the pants looks longer. Later I find out that's not true! Because when I went to the Armani boutique to purchase an Armani bespoke suit few weeks ago. The tailor who measured me up told me my Givenchy pants was too long, I told what the lady told me and he just laughed. Next day, I went to look smart and re-did the pants for $20 and fits perfectly!

Now back to customer services, when I pick up my suit around 430pm, I was about to pay using credit card and I saw there is an EFTPOS terminal on the table. But the lady told me they only take cash for alterations! Excuse my language but WTF? Then I have to walk to the other end of the building to take cash from ATMs and walk back.

You may wondering why takes me almost a year and half to raise it, well because I was stupidly believed what they told me it's true until I find out been completely ripped off.

So if you want your suits to be looked after especially the expensive ones, avoid this place...

The reason I picked this place initially was due to the number of Good reviews, but if I'm the only unhappy customer, it's my bad luck...

Truly excellent quality, service. What Rochefort has produced for me over the years has always been outstanding. The Boutique's emphasis is on quality of fabric, fit and, what I like about it - something old school that has something hidden somewhere that's just a little bit jazzy. From the prospect of a colourful lining (my first is in the photo board that has been posted and was an electric paisley silk, designed in-house; it was loved to death), or a slightly different pocket arrangement, the suits are first class. I've bought sportscoats, dinner suits and (most recently) full academic dress for university in England. And I can tell you, thanks to Shane, I've looked on every occasion as well dressed (if not better) than the chaps who've been tailored by Royal Warrant holders on Savile Row. The Rochefort service with shirts and ties wins the same accolades; viz their ties, I really like the fact that the Rochefort silks are unique to the Boutique. I must have bought 50 shirts over the years - and there will be many more; the range of fabrics is outstanding. I've been a loyal customer for 10 years now - and, as I say (and having tried a few others, both in Sydney and in London), I wouldn't go anywhere else.
