The library itself is great and pretty modern, and the staff are friendly. However it's important to check when the kids activities are if you're planning on some quiet study, as the library's open plan means that even three floors up there's isn't really anywhere you can go to escape the sounds of screaming and laughing children (cute, but not particularly conducive to quality study)

Nice new library but open plan hence not the most silent library. Lots of activities for children and during the day time plenty of kids and parents hence not ideal for silent studying.

Love this new atmosphere as it very neat and tidy, particularly if you have young kids like mine one😄, also amenities such as Free Wi-Fi, I have done 78 photocopies @0.20 each page, less than $20 worth it😍😉.

I was siting there studying. I noted a young couple struggling with the printer. They asked the short blonde librarian for help. She didn't seem friendly, and acted arrogant without a smile on her face. After a short period, she wasn't able to remediate the printing issue. A tall thin Asian girl, also a librarian came along and fixed the issue. She was really knowledgable, very professional and extremely approachable. Her voice was so friendly and had a great smile on her face. I also noted that she would offer help to people who were looking for library items or experiencing technical issues. Her communication skill was perfect. I think her name starts with an M. We need more staff like her. Keep up the great work and more importantly the great attitude. You'll go places I'm sure.

I have mixed feelings about this library.

I like how spacious and modern looking the library is, however, I think more thought should be put into the functionality of the library...

1) Coffee tables are a terrible idea for a library and most, if not all should be replaced with regular tables. Sitting at a coffee table to study (when you have no choice) is bad for your back and not functional for study.

2) Meeting room access should be reduced from 4 hours to 2 hours. I think this is a reasonable and realistic number. It would be fair for everyone. I usually come in the library from 10-11am and most rooms are already unavailable.

3) A silent study area would really help! Sometimes it can get loud downstairs and I can hear children from 3 levels up!

now for some pros!
- Cafe downstairs
- wifi access is great
- easy parking
- nice staff
- windows

Overall a good library that could benefit from some improvements.

The best library I have ever been to in my entire life. Staff are friendly, 4 hours free access to computers each day which is so convenience for me, modern and quite spacious, what can I ask for? Thank you!

This place is.... A WONDERLAND.
Artistic, sensuous, and delicately realised, architecturally it's a conscious tangible expression of public interest.
So rarely do I ever come a cross such a beautiful manipulation of space, with its twists and turns- linguistic treasures hidden around not one corner, not two, but EVERY CORNER.... so many beatiful crevices!
Vast reserves of knowledge available for the public good, and the staff?
The staff bring me to my knees. Every time- EVERY time, the staff are relentlessly helpful, so helpful in fact, that one time I rediscover the book that rewrote my rurbrick!
Whilst the librarians' train of thought occasionally flirted with lucidity, it was clear to me within moments of my first visit that the staff, nay the high priestesses of this sacred place, were operating/vibrating on a plane far removed from mine. Far removed, much to my profound regret. Their wits were quick, their faculties sharp, yet they were clearly responding to questions posed across oceans of time and eons of distance removed from my simple request for a book on the principles of elementary hydrology. Sure, I neither found book nor answers to my simple, straightforward questions, yet I walked away more contented, chakras more aligned, spiritually grounded than I had in at least three lifetimes.

This is by far the worst library i have ever been to. Despite there being three floors, there is limited study place, the actual workers there are loud and allow little children to continuously yell and run around like it is a playground. Likewise, with some high school students who DO NOT study and come to the library to socialise should be kicked out. One time i was on the 3rd floor and i could hear a group of teenage boys YELLING from the first floor and despite seeing the librarian multiple times, DID NOT DO a single thing. You should be ashamed of yourselves rockdale, what a pathetic waste of time building a new library when you can't even control the one you had. I really hope you take into consideration how many bad reviews you're getting and make a change.

Great space for studying! It has a revamped, modern look and a nice atmosphere. The wifi is fast and there are powerpoints available pretty much everywhere in the library (with no usage limit). Sometimes it can get abit noisy, especially with kids on the ground floor and the sound tends to travel but there are study rooms to go to if that's the case or just put in headphones and you're set.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The library has a wide array of books and collections.

Overall I would recommend!
