Sequence, Latin and Modern played for social dancers to enjoy. Great venue, welcoming people, terrific music. Love to see new dancers and learners at the classes.
Each night costs $4. 00 for members and $6. 00 for Visitors of the RSL Club. It is definitely an advantage to be a member if regularly attending the dances.

We dance two nights a week at the club. Wednesday and Saturday.

Wednesday is a learning night with two lessons at the start of the night. We start with a lesson for new learners from 7pm to 7. 30pm, then following that a more advanced class from 7. 30pm until 8pm concentrating on the many sequence dances that are popular in the social dance.

The social dance is programmed early in the evening following the lessons with the dances from the lessons so they can be practiced . After the lesson dances, I work through the lesson dances previously learnt plus repeat the current lesson a few times. After this I progress to the remainder of the dances available and often do a few requests towards the end of the night.

Saturday night has a lesson repeating what was taught in the 7pm lesson on Wednesday. This is so people who are unable to make Wednesday still have an opportunity to learn plus Wednesday learners can have an extra night of consolidation or practice.

Saturday seems to have a more formal atmosphere and we often have visitors popping in from up the coast, from other states or old friends who have moved away but come back to catch up with friends.

The crowd at both nights are very friendly, and make visitors welcome. I am very proud of the way people are so happy to share their dancing pleasure with others at Rooty Hill. After twenty one years we have a very close knit and friendly group of people who dance with us.
