About Safe Port

The ‘Safe Port’ prevents accidents by isolating the electrical power to or from those Pre Chosen areas or items, IN A TACIT and FAIL SAFE Way.

Safe Port Description

There are 5 different models of 'Safe " " Port'
They are:

STP

The 'Safe "T" Port'

For USE with, for Example, a Lathe or a Drill Press or other rotating equipment.
The Sensor Array is in a FIXED POSITION in the Purpose Built 'Safe "T" Port'.
The Power to Rotate the equipment is what is controlled, and is available down
line from the 'Safe "T" Port' only while the Chuck Key is in place on the 'Safe "T" Port'.
The Power for the Equipment is able to be Routed to the 'Safe "T" Port' via the normal
Power supply to the Equipment. Be that Hard Wired into the Buildings wire system, or a
Purpose Identified PowerPoint or Designated Extension Lead.

This Device is used to prevent the danger of an unexpected Power Up of equipment such
as a Metal Lathe or a Drill Press or a Pedestal Drill, or any other similar equipment were an
Article such as a Chuck Key or Drill Drift or Required Spanner is in use, by isolating its power
and so preventing the possibility of the equipment rotating while the Chuck Key is NOT in its
place on the 'Safe "T" Port'.

SKP
The 'Safe "Key" Port'

For USE with, for Example, a House and Contents or Office or Shop Lights, have been
unintentionally left powered or lights being accidentally left on.
The Sensor Array is in a FIXED POSITION near the Access Door and Senses the Presence or
Absence of the CAR or Front Door "Key" that is to be placed in position on the
'Safe "Key" Port' after entry has been gained.
THE Key that is necessary to be used to leave the Home or Building.

Power is available down line to Pre-selected circuits while the "Key" is in its place on the
'Safe "Key" Port'. In this way, the Car Key, House Key, Office Key, Shop Key etc. is used to isolate the power to selected circuits when that particular "Key" is removed from the
'Safe "Key" Port' when leaving the Premises.
Most keys are "Put Down" in the one place when you "Get Home" or other.

This habit is used to "Port", or keep the Key, and so control the power channelled by the unit. This requires no change in the users actions or habits from their norm. For example, when the car is driven off and the home is left unattended, and the Stove or the Electric Bar Heater or just the odd Light is been left on, then these Pre Selected units will have the Power turned off automatically and so will have the possibility of dangerous situations or unintended power use removed.

SDP
The 'Safe "Door" Port'.

For USE for use with, for Example, behind a Safety Gate for a Company Robot. Or in a Secured Area that can present a Danger from moving Components or Laser Danger or Radio Wave Transmission Danger, or an Industrial Hydraulic Press for example. The Sensor Array is
in a FIXED POSITION in the Access Door Frame or Guide.

While the actual Door is set up as the Remote Member, and its position is then 'seen' by the Sensor Array, thus activating the 'Safe "Door" Port' action.

The 'Safe "Door" Port' is hardwired into the Buildings electrical system.
It works by controlling the Fuse Box or Fixed Power board.

The action can be one based on Normally Open or Normally Closed Sensor Operation. This means that in one instance, the power down line from the Door can be Supplied while the door is OPENED, that is, think of the light in the fridge.
The Light comes on while the Door of the Fridge is in the OPEN position.

While the other instance is when the power is Isolated while the Door is in the OPEN position.
Think of while YOU are working on the Company Robot behind the Safety Gate, and do NOT want it to be able to function while you are in the area. Similar to the SHP, but NOT with the requirement to Activate the safety function.

It is used to isolate electrical power when the door is in the OPEN position, that is, when the
area is attended. This will prevent any accidents due to equipment Operating unexpectedly.

SPP
The 'Safe "Power" Port'

For USE with, for Example, from Tools that have being left on or plugged in, to that of a PowerPoint, or just the odd Light that has been left on in the Shop, Shed or the Garage.

The Sensor Array is in a FIXED POSITION in the Access Door Frame and Senses the presence
of the Closed Door. So when the Shed or Garage is in use by someone, and the Door is Open, the Power is them available to the Systems or Equipment.

This may be as simple as isolating to the Power from the Rooms Power Points or the
Bar Heater. Power is available down line from the 'Safe "Power" Port' while the Door is in the OPEN position.

This Device is similar to the SKP in that it is used to isolate power and so prevent the danger or effects of unwanted or un-required electrical Power supply to Predefined areas.

Be that of Tools being left plugged in, to that of a Power Point or just the odd Light that
may have been left on.

It is designed to be Hardwired into the existing system, and its main feature is that it can be used as a safeguard for the various places or equipment located at remote or ADHOC positions, that are simply plugged into a PowerPoint.
Think of working on a Farm or at an Office or Shop.

SHP
The 'Safe "HandKey" Port'

For USE with, for Example, an Area that is Enclosed or contains Dangerous Spaces or Equipment Access and is behind a Safety Gate for a Machine or in a secured area that presents a danger from Moving Components or Laser Danger or Radio Wave Transmission Danger, or of an Industrial Hydraulic Press or similar.
So as to remove the possibility of Dangerous Power Emissions or Unexpected or
Unwanted Equipment Operation.
The Sensor Array is in a FIXED POSITION on the 'Safe "HandKey" Port', and the Remote Key, the "HandKey", is the operational component.
Power is available down line only while the "HandKey" is in place on the Port. This Device
is used to isolate power when the "HandKey" is removed from the 'Safe "HandKey" Port'.

And so remove the possibility of danger from power Emissions or equipment operation.
This is the one Variant of the "Safe Port" that requires voluntary "User Input". It works in
combination with any existing safeguards that are in place, or as a simple but temporary personal assurance of power isolation where it is desired. There may be guards like a Lockout or Tag Out Procedure in place, or these may not yet have been adopted, but this 'Safe "HandKey" Port' will still work to isolate the power and keep personnel safe at their own Desire and Action.
