Sanctus Recordings

About Sanctus Recordings

SanCtuS Recordings' primary objective is to produce recordings which meaningfully contribute to the legacy of recorded music, with special focus on outstanding musical values from Brazil and South America. The SanCtuS catalogue divides into two different lines. The first is directed towards recovering important musical documents and interpretations. The second concentrates on bringing outstanding contemporary musicians to the recording hall in order to reveal with new insight music which has either been neglected or which gains from being presented in a new light. SanCtuS strives to achieve utmost quality with every production. Meticulous care is taken with each production and its presentation. Sleeve-notes have original and informative texts mostly written by authorities on the recorded repertory. Sound transfers are made with state-of-the-art technology and production is entrusted to a manufacturer of international repute. Booklets, often richly illustrated, appear in at least three languages and the art-work is painstakingly researched. The name SanCtuS is a natural association with the patron saint of musicians, Santa Caecilia. Her most beautiful visual representation is the painting by Raffaello Sanzio, in the Galeria Nationale in Bologna, and on which his friend, Marcantonio Raimondi, based his etching that has been adopted by SanCtuS as its logo. The SanCtuS catalogue strives to grow at a pace which allows it to maintain its high standards and to carefully mould a name associated with excellence.
