5 stars isn't enough! Today my family of 4 decided to take a road trip to Nelson's Bay and along the way we stopped at Anna's Bay to check out the sand dunes. We were all welcomed by Brett from Sand Dune Safaris. He offered a great price for all of us to experience a 4WD tour and unlimited sandboarding on the sand dunes! The 4WD ride was awesome!! Brett told us a tonne of awesome facts about the area and the history of the dunes. Once parked ontop a huge sand dune, we were all introduced to the sand boards and were taught some basic skills before giving sandboarding a go. One word: AMAZING! Such a thrill, had a tonne of laughs along the way. Brett provided us all with bottles of water, sunscreen and spare sunnies. At the end of our session, brett recommended a place for lunch - The Boat Shed at Soldiers Point which turned out to be the perfect spot, right near the water and delicious food! Overall a wonderful experience, so friendly, welcoming, professional and great company. Will be recommending to everyone on the Central Coast and will DEFINITELY be back for more!! Thank you for such a wicked day Sand Dune Safaris!

Good cheap friendly company, but sandboarding is exhausting going down once to have to walk to the top of a sand dune again

I have booked with Sand Dunes Safari twice, first time was July2016, and decided to booked with them again July2017 during friends visit from overseas. Both times was hassle free, staff was really helpful. First time it was group of 13 with small children (age between 4-12), and we got refund for 2 adults that came along for the ride but did not play. They took the beach route the first time stop for a couple of minutes guide was telling us about the dunes and port stephens and we spotted whales and dolphins, everyone was so excited! Second time, july 2017 we brought 2 of our friend from overseas, and during our was back guide stops at this spectacular spot with the best sunset view to take few quick pics, it was amazing! They were very happy with the experience..
Both experience was amazing and better than all the companies I went with before. They have stepper/higher slope, and nicer spot. Staffs are always friendly and went above and beyond to make the experience memorable.
During our second visit, my husband lost his wedding ring during sand boarding. I took a photo and text it to one of the staff member, Anna, after we left. She responded with multiple lengthy texts almost instantly, reassured me she'll try her luck first thing in the morning, and told me never to lose hope, they do sometimes find lost jewellery. But later that night, she got back to me saying she tried morning, afternoon, and evening with no result, then said she'll get a metal detector and how she refuses to give up..
Just as almost all hope was lost. 4 days later I received this text that gives the chill down my spine and touches my soul... A little girl found the ring and handed it in!!!! We're driving up this Saturday to pick up the ring, and we're forever grateful to Anna, and staffs from Sand Dunes Safari.
We're hoping to find this little girl to thanks her in person!

Great place for kids and adults to try out sand boarding, it was exhausting to go and down the hill repeatedly, however, my kids and I had a great time spent in here.
