Congratulations to A/Prof Chiara Neto who has secured a 2018 Future Fellowship funded by the Australian Research Council (ARC)!
This project aims to develop new slippery lubricant-infused surfaces that reduce liquid drag and inhibit fouling – a build-up of unwanted material - while being non-toxic. The developed coatings will provide a sustainable and green solution to the marine fouling problem, and will reduce the energy required to produce flow. https://sydney.edu.au/…/2018-arc-future -fellowships-linkage…
Congratulations to Debora Monego, a PhD student in Dr Asaph Widmer-Cooper's group, who has recently received two awards to help support her research on ligand-mediated interactions between nanoparticles; a University of Sydney Nano Institute Postgraduate Top-up Scholarship and an Australian Nanotechnology Network Overseas Travel Fellowship. Well done!
FINALISTS ANNOUNCED IN EUREKA PRIZES Congratulations to our very own Thomas Maschmeyer and Liz New who are finalists for the Australian Museum Eureka Prize. Check out Thomas and Liz's videos at https://sydney.edu.au/…/university-of-s ydney-finalists-anno…. Good luck guys!😁
Congratulations to Maggie Corrigan who came second in the Faculty of Science 3 Minute Thesis competition with her talk 'Mysteries in the atmosphere'! Maggie's research uses simulations to better understand the complex chemical composition of the atmosphere, and to identify the radicals involved in breaking down larger atmospheric molecules.
