When you hear someone say....”Just think positive!” 😐🙄 - Avoiding negative thoughts and trying to think ‘only’ positive can actually be very detrimental to your goals and health. - Negative emotions such as frustration, anger, pain are all some of the most powerful catalysts for change known to man.... - The uncomfortable emotions of guilt and shame you feel when you slip up simply show how much your goal means to you and it forces you to learn from your mistakes. - Feeling pessimistic or doubting your ability to get results can actually cause you to work harder than your optimistic counterpart. - Avoiding negative emotions can result in us habitually checking our phone when we are bored to the extreme level of using food (or drugs, alcohol etc) to numb our pain when we have these feelings. - So never feel bad for feeling negative emotions, as every emotion we feel have a purpose. The key is to think about why we are feeling them, channel them in a productive way and use them to your advantage ✌️📝

“HELP! I’m Doing Everything But Not Losing Weight!”🤷‍♀️

When you hear someone say ..”Why don’t obese people stop eating so much sh*t?!” 🤨 - Processed foods light up the ‘pleasure parts’ of our brain (the same pathways as sex, drugs, alcohol etc) through the release of dopamine. - Hitting the pleasure centre too much over time ‘down regulates’ our ability to feel pleasure.... - The same pleasure we once got from a square of chocolate, now takes 3 bars of chocolate to elect the same effect! - Now this person (who has a high tolerance to pleasurable foods) eat’s a salad and gets absolutely ZERO enjoyment from it because natural foods release a smaller amount of dopamine. - This results in the good food tasting like cardboard because it’s so bland 😷 - And you wonder why it is hard for out of shape people to stay consistent! 🤷‍♂️ - HOWEVER it has been seen that if people eat natural foods consistently over time, the pleasure centre can return to a somewhat normal level and then they will start to find pleasure from good food again! ✌️✍️
