Great coffee. Lovely breakfast. Friendly service.

First of all, the 1 star I've given this business is for the hard working kitchen staff. We went on a 36 degree hot day and there was no air conditioning in the cafe at all, not in the customer sitting area inside nor the small kitchen in the back. I feel sorry for the people working in there and totally understand the 20 minutes waiting time the girl at the front informed me when I made my order.
after an expected long wait the food were served, however the Thai beef salad had no dressing at all and tastes flavorless. The signature burgers tastes the same, I've never in my life opened a burger and put salt and pepper in it. The bread was stale on the top and soggy on the bottom, which gives me the impression of it's been made and left for a while. Last which is the worst is the pancake, forget about the golden colour your normal everyday pancake should look like, they were black, like they've been sprinkled with chocolate powder, but unfortunately it wasn't. I called the waitress to tell them the pancake looks not right and the waitress told me and I quote," it's the thing from the grill, it should be alright, you can eat it." Our whole group were speechless and couldn't decide what to do then another staff approached and ask the first waitress what was wrong and when she heard what was going on she had a look at the pancakes and said the same thing," it's from the grill, probably from the pancakes made before, it's ok, you can eat it". I did cut a piece and put it in my mouth, and the powder is like chewing sand. At this time I had to bring it back and ask for a refund since it's not consumable, especially when it's ordered for the kids.
Maybe it's because the heat in the kitchen? Maybe they cook forgot to clean and wipe the grill before they make pancakes on it? I wouldn't know, but the standard of this establishment that we experienced was nothing like the reviews we read on google.
