Mount Kembla is a historic mining community located just 10 minutes’ drive from Wollongong City. It has a rich mining history – it’s the perfect place to stop in and commemorate the past.
Take yourself on a self-guided walk and visit the many historic sites along the memorial pathway. While you’re there check out the views from the summit lookout and you can even follow Tourist Drive 11 around to visit Mount Keira on your way back to Wollongong. Bald Hill Lookout is around 30 mins drive north of Seascape along the picturesque Grand Pacific Drive.
It’s recently had some work done, with more parking and updated facilities including the modern 'Flying High Cafe' and the famous Bald Hill Ice Cream Van.
Take a blanket and maybe a picnic and watch the hang gliders launch whilst enjoying one of the top views that the Illawarra has to offer – who knows you might be lucky enough to see some dolphins or whales frolicking offshore!

Australia Day in Wollongong is HUGE!!! And Seascape is right on the door step. Despite the huge crowds in the park next door you'll hardly know they are there as Seascape is set back and being in a cul de sac there is no passing traffic. Literally 50m walk and you're in amongst all the action. The Aquathon at the harbour, the fireworks, the fun fair in the park.
