Piers Morgan may not be everyone's favourite. However I think he hits the nail on the head in this article when he says that if you are going to argue with your ex partner, do it where the kids can't hear as it is incredibly damaging to them otherwise.

A really interesting article which discusses ways of increasing the success of women in the workplace by accepting the unique strengths that they bring to the workplace. The author talks about women in the workplace being caught in the “double bind” of likeability and competence that has stalled the progress in women’s advancement achieved over the past many decades. She discusses ways that organisations should manage these biases which are largely beyond conscious awareness.

Take a look at my blog posted on linked in.
It discusses a recent mediation SMG conducted involving a manager and a member of his team and it highlights the impact a micro-manager can have on an employee.

From this article, it is clear that children want to have a say in the decisions their parents make when separating or divorcing. They want to also be kept in the loop with any decisions made that impact their lives.
Segal Mediation Group is a strong proponent of this approach and when mediating, we always suggest Child Inclusive Process when we believe that it is important for the child's voice to be heard. It is empowering for children and can really help them settle down into their new reality of two separate homes. At the same time, parent's really have to listen to what the children are saying and this can, no doubt, sometimes be difficult when the children are not saying exactly what they want to hear.

In a perfect world bullies wouldn't exist. The reality is that they do whether it is a child on the playground or perhaps your partner , former partner or even a co-worker or manager exhibiting controlling behaviour towards you in one way or another.
When mediating, I often come across dominant characters who try to intimidate the other party into agreeing to something. I believe that the best way to stand up for yourself is with the power of words and dialogue. So many tim...es I have seen a resolution come out of a conversation between two parties, which even though difficult and emotional, can be an empowering experience.
This interesting article below made me think once again of the importance of simply having that conversation in as honest and as open a way was possible. It really does work- you may just have to be brave enough to take that first step.

Children thrive most when they have both parents in their lives. https://www.kidspot.com.au/…/a112b917e6 7b18e218b02e0e8707fc…
