I can still see her face. Very bad service this past Sunday and previous visit before that from the same waitress. She looks angry and rushes her words and actions. Always rushed this place, even 1min after given the menu , expected to order, if not its a long wait looking for a waitress to get their attention. She looked at us as if we were stupid coloured people. Yes I can use a chopstick, speak Chinese and Japanese. Soup was cold not even hot. Beef soup was just full of fat no meat, dumplings was average.

Lively place with excellent Chinese food. Very popular and expect queues!

Dumplings are popular here. Affordably priced. Eftpos accepted.

Well known dumpling house with great dumplings and ok service. Best part is byo and the superb prices. We went as a group of 5 on Friday evening and got a table instantly. I'd recommend the pan fried pork and chive dumplings and the prawn dumplings steamed.

Delicious food, no frills, the xiao long bao and pan fried pork buns were delicious. The handmade noodles with pork and veges were really good too. Would recommend.

Service:
HORRENDOUS!!! I won't EVER come here again!! I came with a mate and sat down at a table for dinner. As we sat down, the waitress came and threw us the menu and walked away. No greetings, no smiles. Simply threw the menu onto the table and walked away. We had a look through the menu, great value, lots to choose from which was good. We eventually ordered a Pan Fried Pork Bun with Shallots, the waitress had a rather demeaning tone when we placed our order because we only choose one item. We were given the utensils to use and I noticed that in the bowl i had, there was rice stuck on the spoon! It was old dried up rice, meaning it may not have been washed properly from previous customers having used it. As we waited for our food to come, my mate witnessed the same waitress who threw us the menu sneeze into her own hands and touch a bowl with her hands without washing it! She then gave the bowl she touched to another customer!
At the end of dinner, I went up to pay for the dish and the cashier (same person who took the order) just stood there to collect my money. Didn't even tell me the amount that I had to pay. Simply stood there waiting for me to hand her the money. I even asked her "It's $9.80 right?" but I got no response. I gave her the correct amount and she counted the money, it went straight into the cash register and that was it. Never got an answer whether I gave her the correct amount, whether the dish was $9.80 or any response. No nod, no answer, no nothing! She just simply stared at me after putting the money in the register. I just wanted to get out of here as soon as possible! Terrible Terrible experience.
Food:
Pan Fried Pork Buns, it was okay. The pork buns came out very hot, which was a good thing because then they don't go cold too easily. The soup from the bun tasted quite odd, it tasted as if something was rotten. The soup was too oily and there wasn't much soup in the bun to balance out all of the meat and pastry. Meat overpowered by ginger, was not lean and had a choppy texture. Pastry was thin, quite good, enjoyed it quite a bit because when there was pastry left over it wasn't too overwhelming. The pan fried part of the bun was not so good, wasn't crispy and crunchy enough. I also noticed that they used "old" oil to fried the buns because when I picked up one of the buns, there were fragments of previously cooked food on the bun. You can see it on the top left corner on one of the buns in the picture.
Recommendation: DON'T COME HERE IF YOU CARE ABOUT HYGIENE. I don't know how they get a four star rating for cleanliness.

The food at shanghai night is terrible compared to taste of shanghai and new shanghai I ordered prawn dumplings and they taste like they've been in the fridge for 4 years it was fake prawns aswell disgusting. The Mongolian lamb look nothing like the picture no veges only meat. This place is disgusting the only reason it has business is people don't want to line up next door. The services is terrible aswell waiter ignored me and had the nerve to charge me 30 cent per container to take away the already disgusting food I don't want to eat and probably throw away

Reasonable cheap noodle restaurant that can be a little hard to navigate if you're not familiar with the menu

User

I've come many times and had no problems but today was just beyond disappointing!

We ordered a lemon chicken and when it came to our table it was a dark colour. It looked dry and overcooked. I told them that i've ordered it many times in the past and it has never been as dark as the colour it was. They said the cook changed his cooking style 'yesterday' and it was "normal" to look like that. We wanted a new meal because I've worked in hospitality before and I would not have let that plate come to the customer. It looked like it came from a packet in a supermarket and was cooked with old oil.

Unfortunately because of this experience I won't be coming back. It's one thing for food quality but customer service and satisfaction is just as important.

Pretty authentic but a little mediocre. Try the spicy noodle.

Worst Chow main I ever had. So noisy too.
