A good little review from who I imagine will be a new customer of mine. Although the car was a lemon he was happy to find someone who would give him an honest opinion and not take him for a ride.
Unfortunately in qld roadworthies don’t mean a lot. This is the second car this week we have looked at with current RWC (issued elsewhere) that should have failed.
... Fortunately the first one was so bad that once we issued a report and the seller was notified he jumped at the opportunity to give the buyer a full refund and pick the car up from her house after we advised her to cease use immediately.

This week we had a customer drop a car off for a suspected cold start noise.... Well we found it, just so happened to be the timing belt tensioner. The tensioner had begun to fail and was rattling on the plastic timing cover.
Just remember although your car might be out side it warranty or logbook period you should not ignore recommended replacement intervals.
... This customer was VERY VERY lucky that it didn't jump a few teeth and damage the engine.
We sorted it out with a new timing belt kit supplied and fitted same day.

Ever wondered why your car might be “ticking” more than usual?
We currently have a VE SSV in the shop for new lifters. This car was running fine but with increased lifter noise. But during the disassembly we found several lifters that had start to fail and as a result break.

Had a Maloo come into the shop today lucky the owners are mechanically minded and noticed that the oil pressure was down and lifters we’re making a bit of noise. They shut it off and towed it in upon further investigation we found that the chain dampener had failed blocking the pick up having been on the ball we are hoping there has been no serious damage.

Solid day in the shop Today we started the replacement of an electronic power steering rack in a 2011 Ford Focus.
After the customer was quoted a ridiculous amount by a “mobile mechanic” he thought he would ring around. At just under half the price he was previously quoted he was more than happy and had it down within the week.
... Remember although they are mobile it might be worth getting a few quotes, to keep them honest 😉
