Mothers Day 2017 - one that will live in infamy. $90 per head for adults featuring dry overcooked fish, "steak" which was sliced roast beef and a chicken number that was purchased not cooked. Both courses served on mash potato (amateurish).. I've seen the deserts in Costco. The kids meal $30 a head for calamari and chips, ice cream and some smarties on top. Calamari so rubbery the kids couldn't eat it.
If you're thinking of going don't, living of a reputation from years ago. Any bowling club bistro would be better than this and a fraction of the price. "You can add a tip on the eftpos machine", like f$%k.

We often take the trip from Wollongong to this beautiful venue for our special events and private functions. Always a pleasure and the food is superb. Our favorite venue.

Just received an email from Shipwrights about a Valentine's day promotion and got reminded about my horrible experience with them some time ago.

My family and I ordered mussels and the taste was clearly off so we told the waiting staff. He took it into the kitchen and came back a short while later, saying that it was impossible because they just received the mussels that morning and asked if we wanted the same plate of (bad) mussels back.

So not only did they not do anything about the bad mussels they served, by asking us if we wanted the plate of mussels back, they made us feel like we were trying to scam them for a replacement or a discount or whatever. And since our nefarious plan failed, we would then happily eat the crap they served.

Never going back again.

Contrary to some of the reviews we dined here for our wedding anniversary and were very happy with our experience.
The staff were a little conservative however the service was very good and our orders were delivered without delay but not rushed either.
Shipwrights is a hidden gem in a top spot (great views). Yes we recommend and will return
