URGENT CALL TO ACTION
Dear Friends, our Shrine of Our Lady of Mercy - Penrose Park is now threatened by one of Australia’s biggest sand mines to be built on our boundary, just metres from our Sacred Grotto. Penrose Park attracts thousands of national and international pilgrims a year.
We are extremely concerned about this huge mine on our border. This is a 47 hectare open-cut pit (about the size of our Penrose Park) to 39 metres below the water table, which will reduce and po...llute our and our neighbours water supplies. Noise, blasting and light pollution 24 hours a day will ruin our peace and tranquility and interupt our worship. Dust will affect our health and damage our shrines. Clearing 63 hectares of native bush will harm our native flora and fauna and critically block this section of the Great Western Wildlife Corridor.
Please help us in this fight. 1st: Make an individual submission objecting this project URGENTLY at http://www.majorprojects.planning.nsw.gov .au/index.pl… 2nd: Join the SAVE OUR SANDS ALLIANCE and get information on how to make a submission to oppose the mine. Send an email to saveoursandz@gmail.com 3rd: If you live in the area come to the PUBLIC MEETING 6.30 pm, Friday 15th June St Paul's Catholic Primary School Hall 24 Garrett St., Moss Vale

"Renewal of Faith. Learning in the Immaculate Heart of Mary"
Programme: 9am - Formation talk 1 10am - Adoration and Confessions... 11am - Holy Mass followed by time for lunch (BYO) 1.30pm - First Saturday Devotions (Rosary, meditation) followed by Formation talk 2 3pm - Coffee, tea - social and Q&A time
Our Lady said on July 13, 1917: ”God wishes to establish in the world devotion to Her Immaculate Heart and that She would come to ask for the communion of reparation on the first Saturdays….”
What do you have to do? The devotion of First Saturdays, as requested by Our Lady of Fatima, carries with it the assurance of salvation. However, to derive profit from such a great promise of Our Lady, the devotion must be properly understood and duly performed. The requirements as stipulated by Our Lady are as follows:
- sacramental confession, - receiving the Holy Communion, - five decades of the rosary, - meditation on one or more of the mysteries of the rosary for fifteen minutes, - to observe all these practices on the first Saturday of five consecutive months.
These four conditions must be completed in the spirit of reparation to the Immaculate Heart of Mary
When Lucia asked why do we need to celebrate the five first Saturdays? Our Lord answered: My daughter, the motive is simple, there are five kinds of offences and blasphemies uttered against the Immaculate Heart of Mary: 1. blasphemies against the Immaculate Conception; 2. blasphemies against her virginity; 3. blasphemies against her Divine Maternity; 4. blasphemies of those who openly seek to foster in the hearts of children indifference or even hatred for this Immaculate Mother; 5. offences of those who directly outrage her in her holy images.

Today we celebrate Palm Sunday. As we enter into Holy Week and meditate on the Passion of Our Lord may we see our own struggles in the light of Jesus’ sufferings with a hope of the dawn of the resurrection.
We pray that you will have a blessed time in the days approaching Easter.

Great place to go for prayers and meditations or just to have a picnic fellowship with friends and family. It was worth the 2 1/2 hour drive (one way).
