We picked a beautiful spot and day.. had a share plate off bar menu..done perfect even if deep fried..had a refreshing cocktail..delicious..ambient atmosphere & great service from the staff...our only regret that we hadn't discovered earlier.. be prepared to park a distance though

Lack of passion and pride you'd expect for the price due to lazy and disrespectful staff who are incompetant . The photo's i put up are meatlovers pizza's and meant to have pepperoni salami bacon and mozzarella these were taken to prove such poor quality and presentation. Tofu would taste better and it stands for Tasteless Odorless Flavorless Ohhh ! Which is how our family described this food.

Silo is such a friendly place the staff are terrific very good food nice cocktail mrnu share platters and an excellent wine list.

Terrible service
We showed up with two small families for breakfast
Plenty of tables about but the waitress said there's no space for both families
We said we can wait as some people were about to leave , the answer was we will stop serving breakfast in 30 mins
Clearly there was no intention to serve by the waitress and no effort to accomodate people that easily could have spent $500 for breakfast
I say this as a business owner myself and hate as an employer for my staff to be projecting a "sorry go somewhere else attitude "

Nice location let down by lack of attention to detail. Waiter was friendly and accommodating but you get the impression the care isn't there in back of house. Coffee served in chipped mug with lipstick marks. Had replaced and next mug had coffee stains on outside. Tea served but they forgot the milk. Sourdough slices very thin and not buttered. Bacon very fatty. Could be a great place but needs someone out back with a bit more care and attention to detail to motivate staff.

Poor service..average meal at fine dining price..staff inattentive..used cocktail glasses still on table after entree and main served..too busy cleaning up at 9.00pm with 10 patrons in restaurant to serve us desserts...left with dessert menu for 15 minutes. 2 waitresses who were often missing in action...our cocktails sat on the bar for over 10 minutes before being picked up. NOT A HAPPY DINER

Lovely lunch. We enjoyed the view and it is great to see this restaurant and others complimenting the riverside of Newcastle

Went to silo to check out the food because my daughter in law wanted to go there for her birthday...first up we could not read the menu as the place is dimly lit, then we got asked if we wanted water for our table ( not telling us we would pay for it later) food was nice but was in very small quantities & not good value for money. ....would not go back again & we got Maccas on the way home as my husband was still hungry......very dissapointed. ....😕😕😕😕😕

So disappointed with the food here. Had the seafood tasting plate with 2 oysters, a few clams and 4 pieces of deep fried seafood fluffed out with various salad. Certainly not worth the money. The kids grilled chicken was overdone and deep fried. The only thing saving them is the view and the great service.

Not a very pleasant experience. Worst meal had in a long time, both meals had undressed salads, meal was finished before the salad dressing eventually arrived (after asking for some) then it was just some olive oil. Waitress clearly didn't want to be there and everything was an effort, overall a very unpleasant experience and would not go back.

Great location and staff were friendly enough but told there would be a half wait for a piece of toasted banana bread when the restaurant was only a third full. Also surprised they didn't have milkshakes for kids so we had to get milk with vanilla essence. Coffee was very average unfortunately. Won't be going back anytime soon.
