Discovering passion in youth of today. Matchmaking skills that you desire with friends through SkillBuddy. A one stop shop platform for people learning new skills and people with skills to meet online.
Current Education System:
Think of yourself when you are younger, when you are in school. We are being taught what the society demands us to be, what our parents want us to be. Think of the subjects we have learnt when we are from pre-school to high school and college. How many subjects and units have we actually applied in your current workforce?
Details:
If we managed to identify our passions earlier on in our youth or teen age. Improve and hone our skills through the years, instead of obliging ourselves with society’s expectation and demands, where would we be right now? Would you be loving what you are doing?
Competitive Advantage:
What we want SkillBuddy to be is a win-win scenario for everyone using it. It could potentially be an identifier for a scouting agency. A student discovering his passion and decides to invest his time and effort into it. A tutor /mentor enjoying classes or individual coaching through SkillBuddy.
Why am I doing this?
When I first taught about this idea. I had a looked into my life and realized I am 32 years of age and have no great achievements or milestones that excites me. I wished I could do more with my life and just wished if I had done something else with my life when I was younger, and be happy with what I am doing. I am a university graduate, I have got a bachelor degree which I had no clue if I am guaranteed a job with it. Through my struggles and the midst of a bad economy, I have come into terms with an 8-5pm labor job and was very dissatisfied with life. I began to think of an idea that could potentially help the youth of today not to follow the path of what the society demands and what the society expects you to be. An application that will help identify what you are good at and unleash the hidden talents in you earlier in your life. We only live once and as we know time is of scarcity, by identifying your passion earlier on through trial and error of skills that you acquire through the years. You will do what you love and with the passion of fire in whatever you desire.
