The South Pacific Islands Foundation Ltd (ABN: 46 605001045) is a non profit charity Organisation, (based at 247 Enmore Rd, Enmore NSW Australia). It was formed when Cyclone Pam hit Vanuatu in March this year.

The Foundation is focusing on the forgotten community of Ohlen, just outside of Port Vila. These people have not received any aid or support from their Government and civil agencies, after Cyclone Pam devastated their homes and environment in March this year.

To date the foundation has shipped out one and a half container loads of clothes, blankets, bedlinen, towels, food, tarps, tents and other essential items to these people.

The people in this very poor and neglected area have shown immense gratitude when Goods arrived and were distributed to more than 500 families by our receiving agent Jackson George Nauka who said that "people in this community are so overwhelmed that they are being thought of and supported by people outside of their community. " They await the next shipment eagerly, which will happen sometime this month, through the support of Rotary.

The continual rains and bad weather have brought their urgent cries for help to have their homes rebuilt or patched so they can have adequate shelter. The situation is still really bad and although there are natural disasters happening in other parts of the world, we cannot forget these people and shall continue to provide all the support we can.

Many thanks must also go to the very generous donations of clothing food, blankets and Linen and other basic items from the public and the huge effort by the children and staff of Newton North Public school, for their wonderful support of food donations.

A big thank you must also go to Storage King for donating some boxes as well a huge thank you to Carnival (P& O Line) for their most generous help in shipping our donated goods to Port Vila, Also, Rotary and the Women's Federation for World Peace in arranging discounted shipping through Kalgin Freight Forwarders.
