Reviews
Great stadium, not the best for football matches. Very modern facilities, quick to enter and exit. I think the food options are well above us usual standards with a doughnut places and subway. There is even a members area which is a convenient place to meet up with mates. This venue is clearly built for crickey and afl purposes.
Great stadium, small and very attractive! Would be good if they could add maybe 5-10k more seats here as Greater Western Sydney Giants are growing and finals will be held here more often. Can't wait for the future!
First time here for an AFL match... great venue, good catering.
Absolutely a blast! Great Big Bash Game. Had fun messing with security when they would take our beachballs! Though the blown up condom was taking it a bit to far...lol Wave was 4 times around rhe stadium, recon that was a record. And the Texan food was good!
To answer a few comments here yes, this Stadium was purpose built for baseball originally. The teardrop configuration of many baseball stadia is evident and home plate was located at the ANZ Stadium end.
The first sporting event played was the 1999 IBAF InterContinental Cup, a test event for the 2000 Olympics. As a volunteer I witnessed a great final between Cuba and Australia. The Aussies won in extra innings - a great feat against the 26 times (real) World Champions.
It was then used for the Olympics as the main venue with Blacktown Olympic Park as the second venue during the preliminaries. The USA won their first ever (and only) Gold Medal for baseball at this venue.
Brooklyn / Los Angeles Dodgers famous player / manager Tommy Lasorda was the USA skipper.
It has not been used for baseball since, the primary Sydney venue being located to the three field complex at Blacktown where the Australian League Sydney Blue Sox are located.
And to answer another misinformed comment, yes, Aussies are proud to say we have been playing the sport since around 1860's, much longer than many other sports. We have been ranked as high as number three in the World.
Baseball - an Olympic sport.
Pay for first class seats, if you can find them, no signs, clueless staff, why pay more? First and last visit. Very disappointed!
Great sports venue in general, but the worst for soccer... Excellent food options, lots of amenities
Great boutique stadium. Friendly staff. Small capacity means the crowds are never overwhelming. Good variety of food vendors at reasonable prices. Good views from all seats.
Great venue. Easy entry and exit. Facilities well maintained.
Good smaller venue for watching sport. Recently attended a BBL game here and you felt like you are right on top of the game. The venue is modern with good access to public transport.
As good as a stadium gets. Awesome food variety, nice bar and clean toilets and seating. Be sure to get public transport to Olympic Park where possible as you'll be waiting for up to an hour after AFL/BBL matches to get out of the car park behind Qudos Bank Arena.
Quite a nice stadium with accessible parking, more food options than other stadiums I have been to and really good at controlling weather.
Would recommend going here.
Viewing and seats etc were fine. Bar and food facilities were absolute amateur hour. Two Guys behind the bar. One taking money the other pouring beer out of stubbies into a cup...to order. Half an hour to get a beer at a game that had 10k people. Get real!
