Spotlight Birkenhead Pt

This is the worst laid out Spotlight store I've ever gone into. Majority of supplies are over run by absolute junk! It's more like a discount $2 store than a valued fabric, sewing & home goods store. The service here is also shocking. There's never anyone on the floor & they seem to gripe when you're trying to get assistance. Bad store. I've gone in here 4 times too many. C'mon people ... sort it out!

Worst customer service I've encountered yet - no one wants to help you in store, or on the phone! Would recommend people drive the extra couple of kms to Lidcombe or Rockdale. Would much prefer dealing with traffic than the incompetent staff that run this store.

There is a box with stuff between 1$-50¢ which has some nice stuff.

Worst customer experience I have received in a while. Incompetent bunch of people who take no accountability and obviously hate their jobs.

Today I had to go to Spotlight, I didn't want to but had to. First off I rang to see if they had the pattern I required. They answered straight away, found pattern & put it aside for me....(thay was a supprise for a start). When I arrived, I was supprised to find the shop tidy and newly organised....a shop assistance volunteered to help me as I lokked at something going in.... (where am I ? this is not usual?)... it only got better... ended up spending over $100 instead of buying just a $5 paytern and running out asap... no, i stayed and they have a sale on too ... so yeppy.. This is a huge turn-around Luke and all the gang there are intelligent helpful and quick to service... I left happy and wanting to go back...... extraordinary 😀😀😊happy customer

The store itself is great even though customer service could be improved. I was very excited about their blinds and curtains services BUT I would advise you all to stay away! It took the blinds and curtain department 4 enquiries and 6 weeks to return a call to book a measuring quote. The guy who gave me the quote was really nice, but he gave us an estimate of 4 to 8 weeks for installation. I waited 3 months with no news. I called and after a week of trying they said it would be another 4 weeks. I asked for my deposit back and they refused. Not happy. I waited from before Christmas to after Easter to have blinds installed. The installer damaged the wall which had to be repainted because they made the blinds too short so he had to drill holes lower leaving holes that needed filling sanding and painting. The quality was not that great and some are shorter than others still. I used Kresta to finish the rest of the house and they were ok! in addition if you need spare parts do not expect any warranty or customer service. The guy in charge "Shane" does not return calls and trying to get hold of anything or anyone is impossible

The store is ridiculously unorganised. Staff clearly hate their job and are SO slow! Come the end of the day, there is no cash in the registers, so you're forced to pay card or wait in very very slow lines.

This place is a disgrace.
A once busy well organized shop with a terrific range of quality fabrics has descended into a garbage tip full of garbage fabric, after a management/ownership takeover several years ago. I kept waiting for them to "settle in" alas this is clearly never going to happen.
What a waste. I was once a regular, now, I only go when I absolutely need a new spool of thread.
Depressing.

This place is total chaos and it's often difficult to find staff to help you, but they absolutely have everything you need from a homewares perspective, which makes it super-convenient. It's especially good for kid's crafts, plus seasonal products such as Halloween.
