Beautiful. Huge. Historic. Very friendly
Small cathedral with wonderful stained glass and ceiling. Make sure to see the Great Bible.
Beautiful architecture, you can do a guided tour- have been there for services and the organ is amazing. One tip- in winter come warmly dressed if you are perching in the pews for a service... it does get rather chilly despite the heating in such a huge space. Beautiful stained glass windows... loved visiting.
Amazing architecture. Long history landmark in Sydney.
Beautiful Cathedral, although the people who work there are very dogmatic and stuck. The beautiful architecture is not the same as the people who uphold that church.
As Cathedrals go - it's a compact one in a great location - with the usual stained glass windows, sandstone columns, wooden seating and it has a very peaceful ambience which takes on a reverent quality on the occasions when an organ recital fills the inner void. It's worth sitting and enjoying.
Drop in for the beautiful architecture, and the oasis of peace, but make sure you see the great bible commissioned by Henry IIX and produced under the direction of Thomas Cromwell. Printed in Paris in 1539, it's an original. Check the wall opposite the entrance for the stonework coats of arms dating from 1604, taken from the Houses of Parliament in London. Well worth a visit.
In my experience, as a church it is distinguished by the clarity of it's teaching and commitment to meaningful fellowship. Give it a try.
