St John Ambulance Australia - Unsw Division Description

Meeting Times & What to Expect:

Our regular meetings are on Mondays 18: 30 - 20: 30 during semester only, based on UNSW Academic Calendar (From end of February to May, and end of July - October, approximately 25 meetings a year). Location is somewhere on campus. Please check our Facebook Page for the exact location closer to date.

During Meetings, we refresh and enhance our first aid clinical skills and knowledge through lectures, practical scenarios and guest speakers, catch up with what’s going on with the division, the organisation & members and have heaps of fun.

We also meet on occasional weekends for workshops and for intensive training and assessments.

Expectations from you:

To maintain your St John membership, you must:
- Hold a current Provide First Aid Certificate or above
- Be at least 18 years old
- Be of good character (undergo an interview process, criminal record check, working with children’s check) and be medically fit (complete a 5 minutes CPR fitness test per year)
- Be willing to undertake regular training (meetings & workshops) and recertification in first aid (complete First Responder Accreditation or Re-accreditation Program)
- Be able to devote time to first aid duties and give back to the community, MINIMUM 60 hours per year (from 1st Dec - 30 Nov)
