Outside the cathedral you can hear many cars and people chatting but once you step into this place, it's a different story. Such a beautiful and peaceful place. Don't miss the lights of Christmas during Christmas time. Not much crowded on a Sunday night. A must see place.

It's a great place to reflect and chill out. The church has amazing architecture and I would highly recommend anyone visiting Sydney to visit. Also nearby is the old sydney barracks.

Beautiful singing by the talented choir. Absolutely love this place...so serene, peaceful and calm. Gorgeously built, breath-taking art masterpieces all put together in this divine place of worship.

St Mary's Cathedral is one of the most iconic and beautiful Churches in Sydney. Architecture of the Church is very impressive and awe inspiring. This house of God bring peace of mind as soon as you enter into it. Highly recommended to visit if you visit Sydney.

The architecture of this church is beautiful. It's large but not ridiculously massive. You are able to enter and roam around when there is not a mass. Even if there is one going on, you are more than welcome to sit in and listen. You are allowed to take pictures quietly on the outsides, however the middle section is only for prayer.

Grand, beautiful and calm.
Amazing architecture, daily services, open for worship, ethereal music from choirs and the grand organ.
Lovely sculptures and shrines.
Even if churches aren't your thing, make this the one you visit - but he respectful and keep noise to a minimum.

A wonderful house of God, and the steeples are 11 million dollars worth of renovation. I would like to see more connection with the priesthood and the general public though as God is Father to us all. All in all though, it is a magnificent place to worship, or even just look around.

It's a nice place to visit. Gorgeous, colorful and cool.

But there was a rude Chinese old female was lying down and sleeping on a bench and her daughter was looking at her phone.
How dare she sleep in such a religious place?

A nice Gothic cathedral in Sydney. Dimly lit, serene, impressive interiors and stain glasses. 5 to 10 minutes walk from Pitt St.

A bit dark my my taste, but the underground portion was very interesting. Ask for a tour (I have neglected to do this) so you can try to understand the architecture.

Beautiful cathedral, quiet even though there are a lot of people there taking photos and walking around. Love the Stain Glass Windows and High ceilings and the Big Organ. Beautiful/serene in one word.

Located right next to Hyde Park, this cathedral is a must see for people of faith and tourists alike. I like to walk through cathedrals wherever I am. The most impressive thing about St. Mary's is it's length. When you walk in, the distance to the altar seems really long. So long in fact that they have installed closed circuit TV with relatively discreet flat screen monitors so you can better see.

When we visited, there was a small wedding going on but tourists and worshipers were still allowed to enter.

There are not a lot of frescoes and the ceiling is all wood work but this is still a beautiful example of cathedral architecture.

As always, whether you are a person of faith or not, be respectful of those who are there to pray or worship.
