It’s Friday night and we’re at St Stephens rehearsing tunnels of sound for tomorrow’s premiere of The Gauntlet-an immersive choral theatre experience sharing Sydney’s stories. Never thought we’d make immersive theatre in the Joan Sutherland foyers! #antidote #sydneyoperahouse #contemporaryperformance #sydneyphilharmoniachoirs 1-2 September, 4 shows only. with Olivia Ansell
Have you wanted to join a choir? St Stephens' Uniting Choir sings mostly standard (and occasionally quirky) liturgical repertoire. We rehearse on Sundays at 9am for a 10am service, followed by a short rehearsal after the service for the next week (there is no mid-week rehearsal commitment). Links to pieces and hymns are sent by email each week, and for those who find it useful there are often practice tracks. There are a few special services/concerts a year at Easter and Chri...stmas, also including our annual Hymnfest concert. Some experience reading music and singing in parts is strongly preferred but not essential - all are welcome. The choir is non-auditioned, but includes auditioned choral scholars to assist with each voice part. For more information email Dr Huw Belling conductor@ssms.org.au
If this is a bit hard for you, but you love to sing, come along and sing with the congregation on Sundays 10am and try us out anyway. The congregation has a love of singing too.

St Stephen's Uniting is proud to support The Gauntlet.
The only way City to Surf affects us is: * Some of our people are running in it. * We're sponsoring some people running in it for charities and causes for the common good. * We can't park our cars easily in the city. Otherwise, trains and boats and planes all still work, plus buses. Don't be put off the the run.... Once a month, on the second Wednesday, there is a place to be on Macquarie Street. Meet your friends, make new friends, get something to eat and drink and listen to jazz. It's church, but it's jazz. We'd love to see you there.
