At least the imaging department were great, especially Dr Fung.
I agree the food is horrible, that is why I lived on their sandwiches which were quite good! I have had good & bad experiences in the ER.

User

The food was terrible, especially for patients who have to eat softdental menu and come without the souces at all . How you manage to recovery ? Better ask your Dr to go home asap.

I was recently required to stay at St Vincent's Private Hospital, after surgery, for 4 days. I would like to thank all the nursing and medical staff for their kindness, attention and care during my stay. A beautiful, clean, friendly environment in which to heal. Thank you.

9 months ago, my review would be totally the opposite. This whole system has improved. Nurses have been absolutely fantastic. The physical venue or room I'm in this time is 100% better. They now have working air-conditioning!. My neurosurgeon, Dr. Parkinson is everything a do tor should be. Compassionate, professional, knowledgeable, intelligent.

As St Vincent's Private commences Stage Two of our hospital redevelopment we would like to take this time to thank our local and extended community for their generous ongoing support of our facility and our mission.
Mrs Packer provides a lovely insight into the journey of St Vincent's Private Hospital and of those friends who have walked the journey with our founders The Sisters of Charity.

Exciting things are happening at St Vincent's Private!
We're set to commence a major refurbishment of our original hospital building over the coming 18-24 months.
While this will result in some minor disruption as we accommodate construction within an operational building, we'll be doing our best to minimise impact on our patients, guests and staff at all times.
... The end result will be amazing!

With very special guest, The Hon. Linda Burney MP, the legendary Uncle Max and local Elder, Aunty Selena joining us for a wonderful celebration of this year's theme #BecauseOfHerWeCan
Also this week we held a special flag raising ceremony, NAIDOC themed Mass, launched our new Aboriginal Health library collection, had a good old fashioned BBQ and hosted Med...ial Q&A showcasing the Aboriginal patient journey with lung transplant recipient, Di.

However, we still need your support to equip this new Wing with the best and latest technology. Donate before 30 June to help our clinicians continue to deliver the best possible care to all our patients. Thank you!

It's Refugee Week, and we are collecting food & toiletries!
St Vincent’s Private has been supporting Refugees in our partnership with the Asylum Seekers Centre for over 15 years.
As you may be aware visa conditions recently changed and the basic allowance has ceased, meaning for those seeking asylum it will now be extremely difficult to pay rent, buy food and medicine and support their children through school.
... Any donations of long-life food or toiletries would be gratefully received. If you can help, please drop off your items to St Vincent's Clinic Reception, 438 Victoria Street Darlinghurst.
Thank you!

It’s been our privilege at St Vincent’s Private to enjoy a longstanding partnership with Sydney’s Asylum Seekers Centre (ASC) for almost 15 years.
Refugees and asylum seekers are some of the most vulnerable members of our community, and we are driven by our mission to do what we can to help the poor and vulnerable among us.
Over the years, our support has taken the form of providing access to prescriptions and pharmacy advice; pro-bono consultations with medical specialists;... free imaging and pathology; access to a primary health education program covering subjects such as kidney health, diabetes and women’s health; helping the Centre procure medical equipment; participation in a free lunch program; food drives; education support for the Centre’s nurses; and providing free manchester and kitchenware to help fit out asylum seeker accommodation.
Recently we were advised our friends at the ASC that the Federal Government was placing up to 100 vulnerable refugees and asylum seekers – many of whom are in Australia to receive medical care – on to a ‘final departure Bridging Visa E’ or ‘BVE’ where they will lose any financial assistance or accommodation support while living in the community.
We believe this is a unnecessarily harsh and unfair policy development that will cause great hardship for people, some of whom are in poor physical and mental health.
As a sign of our support for the ASC’s efforts – and our opposition to this decision – the CEO of St Vincent’s Health Australia, Toby Hall, has written a letter to Peter Dutton, the Minister responsible, asking him to change his mind.
It seems to us that this policy goes against all notions of fairness and aims to punish people who are already doing it extremely tough – it should not stand.

It is National Volunteers Week 2018 #NVW2018
This year's theme is 'Give a little. Change a lot.'
The Volunteers at #SVPHS are a group of generous, wonderful people who commit themselves to simply making a difference.
... This team of 95 commit themselves every week to assisting both staff and patients in so many ways.
From greeting patients and families at the Concierge Desk, to cutting flowers in patients rooms, to providing newspapers and pharmaceuticals to patients, and also in the assistance of administration with Medical Records and Patient Accounts.
Volunteers offer hospitality in the Ambulatory Care Centre, Day Surgery and the Same Day Centre, and escort patients to their rooms as part of the Patient Admissions Team
They give 1,000+ hours per month and are highly respected within our hospital and campus by all.
James our Manager of Volunteers Services says , "We are so honoured to have such an amazing cohort of gracious people giving so generously of their time and talents. They continue the mission of the Sisters of Charity in every act they do in our hospital. Thank you"

St Vincent’s Health Australia does not support moves to introduce a trial of drug-testing for new income support recipients.
These measures: • Lack evidence – there is no evidence drug testing of income support recipients either helps to create jobs or assist people into treatment; the measures have also been developed without clinical input.
... • Aren’t cost effective – the government has refused to announce how much the trial will cost.
• Punishes rather than helps – they will further stigmatise people with addictions, a known barrier to treatment uptake; and
• Risks increased financial hardship – for a vulnerable group who already face multiple and entrenched disadvantage.
If the government is serious about developing evidence-based policies to help people with substance abuse disorders find a job then we stand ready to help – but this policy is not the way to go.
Please take the time to read the article by SVHA's Group CEO Toby Hall.
