this bank is the origin of the meme BOI. Boi stands for Bank of India

Stone-age operations for sure. Had to initiate a change of address request and went to their office(note- this cant be done online). Found that they had changed their office location. When asked a staff at the new location, she coolly replied saying it was put up on their website a year ago(?!). They never bothered informing customers via email. Online transfers are alright, but take 2-3 days which is longer than what some others offer for competitive exchange rates.

Considerable delays in transfer to India during this season. Today is 6th day since I submitted the remittance to SBI and received a receipt to that effect.(22nd December) . Still the transfer has not gone through.

Its same old government office!!! very slow in processing !!

I would like to give 5 stars to SBI for services we receive. I have noticed people have written very bad reviews here which are wrong. No matter how good SBI can be but some people have just decided to say bad. Anyway I am extremely happy with the services and the conversion rate the bank offer. Highly recommended

SBI do not do retail banking that is fine. But to open an e-remittance account is a painful process. Customer service is no surprise as per SBI standard anyway.

Once you open your e-remittance account, I didn't had any hick-ups in sending money overseas but takes about 2 to 3 days for crediting the funds into receivers account.

Overall don't expect any thing nice from the bank, you will be fine.
