Steel Supplies was established on 1st July 2002 by Gerard Leary, Shane Robinson and Ian Minchin. Gerard and Shane have worked in the steel industry for most of their working careers and decided to go out on their own with partner Ian. Ian has been heavily involved in the steel industry through his interests in a number of steel companies across Australia.

Shane and Gerard are the local face of Steel Supplies having lived in the Wagga Wagga and Coolamon districts all their lives. Both directors are heavily involved in the local communities and are proud to have built up such a large and respected business locally. Steel Supplies now has a full time staff of 22 with Shane Robinson as Co-Managing Director & Gerard Leary as Co-Manager Director. James (Goolie) Winstanley (Foreman) leads a team of 11 in the warehousing and delivery department. Caleb Inch (Sales Manager & WH& S Manager) leads a Sales team of 4. John Swaffield controls the manufacturing shed in which we have 2 welders to manufacture all your specialty gates. The Administration department has a full time staff of 2 which Kirby Shultz controls Accounts recievable and Leonie Potter controls Accounts payable for the 3 Steel Supplies branches. The main focus of Steel Supplies is to provide a professional service to all clients backed up by a vast stock holding of over 4500 tonnes with on time delivery and the most competitive price at all times.

In 2004 Steel Supplies Pty Ltd opened up its Steel Supplies Bomen branch in the industrial area of Wagga Wagga servicing primarily the rural sector. This business has shown strong growth and now employs a full time staff of 3.

The following year in 2005 Steel Supplies Dubbo commenced trading and has now grown substantially to a large company with a staff complement of 14.

In November 2006 Steel Supplies Deniliquin opened. The Deniliquin branch is growing and servicing the wider southern Riverina region.
