1/2 Workshop teachers released today! SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE: Australia ALUMNUS!
Jay Johns is a Sydney-based Performer, Choreographer and Teacher, who graduated in 2012 from Ed5 International with a Diploma of Performing Arts under the guidance of William A Forsythe. Shortly after graduating, Jay was lucky enough to compete in SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE Australia: Series 4, making it to the Top 4 Final. Jay then went on to tour with artist G.E.M on her XXX World Tour, and... has since performed with Opera Australia as a Dancer, Actor and Physical Performer for a number of Operas, including Turandot and Carmen: Opera on the Harbour for HOSH.
Jay has enjoyed performing for artists such as Robbie Williams, Samantha Jade, Jessie J, Wes Carr, Wolf Mother, Foo Fighters and MIKA. He also loves sharing his Musical Theatre talents seen in Birdie Production’s in Hot Shoe Shuffle as Slap and recently with Bonnie Lythgoe Productions in The Adventures of Peter Pan and Tinkerbell as the Pirate Himm. Jay has recently arrived back from Paris Disneyland where he performed in Mickey’s Christmas Big Band, choreographed by Chris Horsley.
Jay’s television credits include roles in Love Child, Tough Nuts, Behind Mansion Walls and TVCs for KFC, Telstra, Apple, Powerball, and North Sydney Council. His film credits include the Bollywood feature film Dhoom 3 shot in India.
As a choreographer, Jay has worked with Birdie Productions on the 2017 production of “FAME” and the 2016 production of “Seussical the Musical”, and performed his own choreography as the support act for Kylie Minogue in Hong Kong. In 2016, Jay, along with his partner Emma, established JEM Entertainment. JEM has since produced a number of Shows and provided Entertainment for various events.
Jay owes his success to not only his family and friends, but also everyone who has supported him on his journey.

Emma is a passionate Performing Artist. Hailing from a technical dance background, Emma’s training has been diverse. Since travelling to study at the Urdang Academy (London) and Ev&Bow Dance Centre (Sydney) on scholarship, she recently graduated from the National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA).
Emma made her Musical Theatre Debut in the Opera Australia/GFO 2014 production of The King and I, as Little Eva. Emma is also a skilled Childre...n’s Entertainer, recently touring with the renowned group Hi-5 as the Swing. She has also worked with Millenium Entertainment International/Smile Live Entertainment (Singapore), as well as playing the role of Rhapsody in the Australian Touring Cast of The Fairies. Emma’s television credits include Dance Academy: Series 3, Deadly Women: Series 11, TVCs for The Australian, McDonald’s, Luna Park Sydney, The Voice and Tourism Australia. Her film credits include Dance Academy: The Comeback.
In 2016, Emma co-founded JEM Entertainment with her partner Jay. JEM has been a fabulous outlet for both artists to further Direct, Choreograph and Perform, in addition to creating more opportunities for performers within the industry in Sydney. JEM Entertainment has many upcoming productions, including the smash kids show “Once Upon A Time”. JEM Entertainment continues a strong relationship with Birdie Productions, providing Choreography for the 2017 production “FAME! The Musical” and the 2016 production of “Seussical The Musical”.
Emma is dedicated and enthusiastic. She is blessed to be following her dreams and thankful to have had enormous support from her family and friends.

Oliveah is 24 years old and has accumulated more than 20 state and national titles as a dancer and cheerleader across her 13 years experience. She began dancing at the age of eight at Instyle Academy before moving to Bradshaw Dance and Cheer in 2008, to further her technique and performance opportunity.
In 2011, Oliveah became t...he very first Australian female dancer to medal at the International Cheer Union in jazz doubles. She went on to compete again in 2013 with the Australian jazz team, winning bronze just behind the USA and Japan.
More success came her way when she and the Australian representative team placed 3rd at the Dance World Championships in Florida and then again at Daytona Beach (NDA) and the world championships in China (CCA) coming home undefeated. She has represented Australia in all three genres, jazz, hip-hop and cheer and is a 6x medalist to date.
Now retired from competition, she specialises in teaching jazz, hip-hop and technique based classes which are informed through her own experiences.
Today, Oliveah is a professional cheerleader with the NRL Sydney Roosters of 4 years and regularly performs for stadium crowds.
