Strathfield retains some of its older features especially in the Southern entrance, but other than that the station feels very dated, with a narrow underground concourse and you have to run through long ramps to get onto the platforms, which in peak hour is almost impossible to stream through since people don't know how to keep left. The restrooms are usually busy, not as clean as you'd like and could offer better cafe options on its platforms.
The only advantage about Strathfield railway station is that it is centrally located but that's about it. The railway station is a bit dirty, pretty crowded and can be a real push and shove affair. Getting off and waiting for a connecting train is interesting as well, it's like being in another country.
You won't see too many Australians at Strathfield Station, it's about 35% Chinese, 40% Korean and then if it's not that, you'll see Indians or something else.
Many expensive, highly durable, faultless, excellent quality bench seats have been removed from platforms in favour of a lesser number of these worthless frames you're supposed to lean against. I can't begin to imagine what kind of warped policy thinking is behind this senseless obliteration of public amenities. Don't tell me this is intended to resolve congestion? Maybe you think that the elderly ladies who have served our community should be rewarded with the opportunity to fight to sit down while they wait for their train? Despicable
Sitting seats very less no proper arrangements for waiting customers to board the train 😡
Instead of putting more seats for people to sit they removed the earlier seats also ... worst station poor sydney .. Melbourne is the best
Very useful to go east west north South and country side, nearly attached to strathfield shopping centre, banks, post office etc. One of the most used train station to go in any direction using least time. Parking is a very big issue for commuters parking for more than two hours.
Always grotty.Needs a revamp given it's important role as a major rail nexus.Kiosk is grubby, expensive, unfriendly and food lukewarm, probably sitting around all day. Best avoided.
That's fine unbelievable I like it but I can't describe the apps thanks for that
Good and clean station, not very big but good connectivity and good for fast trains. Also good for crossing from Everton road to Albert road through the station.
One of the busiest train stations in Sydney. Many trains and buses. Great facilities also.
