Supervised Investments Australia Limited (SIAL) is an Australian funds management company. Our genesis can be found in Supervised Investments Limited, an international equities investment fund established by David Constable, which commenced investment activities in September 1999 while he was a resident of the UK living in London. Supervised Investments Limited was driven by a philosophy best summed up as "conservative opportunism". Supervised Investments Limited historically concentrated on investments within the equity sector. On 1 December 2007 Supervised Investments Australia Ltd (SIAL) launched an Australian based international equities fund, The Supervised Fund. Supervised Investments Limited was subsequently merged into this fund. Following the Global Financial Crisis SIAL saw it fit to adapt to the uncertain financial landscape by expanding its investments opportunities beyond the equities sector. The services of Australian debt market specialist Philip Carden were subsequently secured. Philip has orchestrated the growth and led the management team of the Supervised High yield Fund since February 2009. Our approach to investing can be described as "conservative opportunism". Pivotal to the process is the requirement for investments to have a margin of safety. We target securities and markets that have catalysts for significant alpha.
