Did you know that swimming is one of the best ways to work out your entire body at once? It's GREAT for your core strength - building muscle tone and endurance with each stroke, as well as cardiovascular fitness. ๐โโ๏ธ ๐ช
It also uses almost all of your muscles at once, and the cooling effect of the water can push you to work harder. โ๏ธโ๏ธโ๏ธ
By swimming often, you can keep your heart rate up but take the impact of stress off your body. This means you could reduce your risk of h...eart attack and stroke in the long-term, just by getting in the water.
Overall, it's a fun way to maintain a healthy weight and lung health too.
So what are you waiting for? Join Sutherland Shire Leisure Centres and get ready for summer TODAY. ๐๏ธ

Meet Truffle, another beautiful bunny rabbit that will instantly melt your heart. ๐
Truffle is female and is an adult rabbit. ๐ฐ
... She is super affectionate and loves snuggles, as well as being very intelligent, having a strong sense of curiosity mixed with endless cuteness.
Truffle can be a bit of a bunny diva with her food and is a veggie addict, with well-developed taste buds, no left overs here! ๐ฅ
It's hard not to love Truffle's black satin coat and big bunny ears, she would make the perfect addition to your family and a wonderful companion. ๐
If you're interested in adopting Truffle, please contact Sutherland Shire Council Animal Shelter today.

Last week, there was a 'Bushland Blitz' at Joseph Banks Native Gardens! ๐ณ๐ฒ
Parks Operations had a working bee at the gardens to help Horticultural staff in preparation for spring. ๐ป
It was a successful morning, with over 18m3 of mulch spread and 6 truck loads of debris removed. ๐
... The gardens are definitely worth a visit this spring, as more stunning plants flower over the next few months: bit.ly/JosephBanksReserve

Weโve partnered with a bunch of organisations across south east Sydney, including four Councils and the NSW Government to launch a new water safety resource aimed at preventing drowning deaths within culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) and newly-arrived communities.
The South East Sydney Water Safety Directory will be made available to a variety of different community based organisations including community service groups, churches and schools, who have direct links to CALD and newly-arrived community members, in order to educate on beach and water safety.
