Cat of the Week....POD 🍄 💜 🍄
Pod Cat…purrrfect pussy cat perfection 🐱🌟🐱
There is a million and one things to fall in love with when it comes to the delightful and adorable Pod. This cat is a very special soul who is one of the sweetest and most lovable kitty’s we have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Pod ticks all of the boxes with her gentle and highly affectionate personality, her fluffy and cute as they come good looks and her easy going and playful nature, Pod cat is a d...ream come true.
Life for Pod so far has been one of motherhood and responsibility of raising her babies. Pod raised some pretty famous baby beauties who were snapped up like hotcakes on their adoption day. We are sure that everyone will remember the fluffy cuties Karen, Georgia, Steven and Elvis who are all now living the treasured pet life. Pod watched on as her kittens were swept off to their new happy futures, leaving her alone and hoping that she will be as lucky as her kittens. Sadly so far luck has not changed for Pod, since retiring from motherhood she has been patiently waiting in the hope of being adopted and loved for the fabulous feline that she is. Being just a young lady herself, it’s time for Pod to relax, be a big kitten and discover the wonders of being a spoilt rotten and a treasured family member.
Pod in a home will be an absolute pleasure. She is polite and patient and never demanding and has the cutest little squeaky meow. Pod is a major lover who is incredibly affectionate loving cuddles, pats, lap warming and just being in the presence of her human friends. She will be the ideal chill out buddy, reading and movie watching companion, bed warmer and forever best friend.
Everyone needs a little Pod in their life, you can’t go wrong when a cat is as amazing as Pod Cat. She is delightful, dazzling and a darling all in a perfect tabby package. 🎁🎁
Pod is a female, domestic cat who is approximately 12 months of age. Pod has been at the animal shelter since 24/07/2018.
The adoption fee for Pod is $150.00. This includes microchip, lifetime registration, de-sexing, vaccination and vet check, worm and flea treated and a collar and Council tag.

The dog with the bunny rabbit tail is yet to be adopted 😮
Beautiful Mia pranced about as the shelter "Dog of the Week" last week. She was super popular and received a lot of social media love. Unfortunately that love didn't reach Mia at the shelter and she still finds herself in need of people to adore her and a place to call home.
We love this dog. She is pretty amazing and as loyal as they come. She needs someone to love and be loved in return. Give Mia her throne and grant... her wishes, make her your Princess Mia 👑👑

**ADOPTION UPDATE** 🤗
Six months this little man has patiently waited for his forever thing to come along, and finally, Shane walked in and chose him to be the one to brighten up his mothers life. Jovi came in back in January with his litter mates, as an absolutely terrified, un-socialised and unhandled little 4 month old kitten. We have watched him grow and mature into the handsome young man he is now and to see him finally be recognised for the loveable and amazing creature... he is, was a very special moment for us. 😻
Staff and volunteers spent countless hours working with Jovi, helping him understand and trust people and recognise us as friends, and not people to be feared. Jovi had a super special character, he was also our stable resident cat, getting along with every cat that entered no matter what, and even getting along with some of the dogs in the shelter as well.🐕 Shanes mother had recently lost her very senior black cat, and was feeling really lonely and saddened😥, when Shane decided he was going to surprise her with another gorgeous black feline, who is a real spring chicken and would light up her life immediately. 😍
Thanks for choosing to adopt our special boy Shane, we know you guys will love him just as much as we do!

Meow Meow…Happy International Cat Day 🐱❣️🐱❣️
And...Come and read a story to the shelter kitty cats 📚📚📚
Cats are the most majestic and cuddly of creatures, that’s why they need special day to celebrate all of their exquisite awesomeness. ... We love cats at the Shire Shelter, in the last 12 months we have had 358 gorgeous feline friends move in with us where they were given a second chance at life and love. Posing in the collage are our current shelter cat cuties. From top left to bottom we have Gnocchi, Katie and Maurice. Big ginger in the middle is Jackal. From top right to bottom we have Pod, Sloth and Wallaby. All of these beautiful felines are waiting to move into your family.
We are also super excited about a new program we will be holding at the animal shelter in conjunction with Sutherland Shire Libraries starting Tuesday 9 October from 2.00pm-4.00pm. Cats are excellent listeners. If you have a child who finds reading aloud difficult or you’d like to help socialise cats awaiting adoption, visit the Sutherland Shire Council Animal Shelter and read to cats and kittens. Bring along a cat-centric book you’ve borrowed from the library, or choose from the selection we’ll have available in the cattery.
Reading with the Cats at Sutherland Shire Council Animal Shelter launches Tuesday 9 October from 2.00pm-4.00pm. Drop in anytime during the session, no need to book.

Dog of the Week....MIA 🦋 💟 🦋 💟
Sweet as they come Mia is a sugar coated lover needing a forever future. At 9 months of age, Mia is just a big puppy looking for security, routine and commitment to a loyal and loving future together.
Sometimes it takes a little time and effort to find the right fit when you are looking for “the one”, and that’s just the situation that our girl Mia has found herself in so far in her young life. She is a good dog with a golden heart and is looki...ng for someone to love her big time for all of her doggy days.
Mia is everything affectionate and cuddly, there is nothing like a Mia cuddle to get those loved up feels happening. This dog makes you feel as though you are her entire world, and that’s probably because you are. Her soft fur and chunky adorability are as warm as toast making it very easy to get lost in her pleading admiring eyes. Mia is a natural hot stuff making her all the more irresistible. Her soft colours and pretty face are a reflection of her beautiful and innocent nature. She even has the cutest stumpy tail that is just like a bunny rabbits. 🐰🐰
Mia is looking for a life of commitment with love and loyalty. She will require some training with a qualified dog trainer to work on her confidence and independence so she can reach her full potential and be the best dog she can be. Mia is the biggest sweetheart who really just needs someone that is looking for the same thing as she is in life, a best buddy and someone lovely to love. 😍😍

**ADOPTION UPDATE**
Sweetheart Stussy met the family of his dreams on Saturday and was quickly whisked away to his happily-ever-after.
When the lovely Vanessa came to visit all the shelter cats, she wasn’t exactly sure what she was looking for, but she was hoping to discover her new best friend. Walking through the cattery, she spent time with each and every one of the munchkins, but that spark wasn’t quite there. We chatted to Vanessa as she wandered the cattery and sudden...ly realised we might have found the perfect match! Tucked away in another room, as he had been a little under the weather, was Stussy- the chatterbox with a heart of gold. There was no doubt the spark of a beautiful friendship in that very first meeting, and both Stussy and Vanessa knew that it was meant to be.
Stussy said a happy goodbye to us that afternoon as he left the shelter for a home of his very own and a wonderful, exciting future.

The girl who yelled at us today saying that our 16 year old cat was not wanted was disgraceful! So disrespectful and made us feel terrible. We have tried everything to re home her and she should be embarrassed by the way she treated us. Hopefully she is a volunteer because she, in my opinion is unemployable! thanks for nothing!
