About Swing Patrol Glebe

Smack dab in the middle of Glebe in the beautifully restored Glebe Town Hall, we hold weekly beginner and intermediate classes for Swing Era dances (1920s to the 40s)!

Swing Patrol Glebe Description

Lindy Hop, or ‘swing’ is an umbrella term used to describe an energetic dance, that originated in Harlem in the 1920s and evolved to the post-war era, which included the charleston and vernacular jazz. The revival of Lindy Hop took place in the early 80s and is now back with a bang! It’s all the rage! !

Renee and Cameron teach beginner's and intermediate Lindy hop on Tuesday nights at Glebe town hall!

What’s in store?

6. 30-7. 30; Beginner's Lindy Hop! No partner or experience necessary, start any time!
7. 30-8. 00; Social dancing! Hangs with your teachers and class mates! Bust out those new moves you’ve just learnt!
8. 00-9. 00; Level 2 Class. This class is a bit more technical and trickier - we assume knowledge of 6 beat, 8 beat and Charleston rhythms - the focus is on technique, lead and follow communication and more complicated moves.
Come dance with us! We’d love to have you!
