A lot of my clients come to me for weight loss with a mindset that cardio is the best way to go which is a myth.. weight training burns so much fat as well as it's many other benefits. Send me a DM for any advice in incorporating some weight training into your workouts

How often does recovery day include a recovery hand day..? One of the body parts we use the most when training so it's important we remember to take care of them!

Women looking for muscle gains in the gym is so commonplace right now - and while a great way to focus on this is squats it's also not the only way. Deadlifting is a fantastic exercise to bring into the mix with massive benefits and something I'd strongly encourage anyone to bring into their lower body routine.

If you're wondering why you always hear the knee's out mantra when you're squatting, this article does a great job of explaining the science - it's not just about making you work harder, it's about protecting you from injury. Have a read to improve your form and focus on getting stronger.

Gruelling sessions with my client Kerrie - Kerrie is training to join the NSW police force and we're focusing on a combination of upper and lower body splits 3 days a week... she's SMASHING it and going to make an amazing member of the police force in no time! #traininghard #NSWpoliceforce #personaltraining #fitfam #girlswholift #strongwomen #inspiration #achieveyourgoals #health #fitness #healthandfitness #strenghtandconditioning

Generally we know that training more frequently will yield better results but an upper - lower split isn't about mindlessly choosing an exercise from each area while ignoring the science, it's a simple concept but easy to mess it up!
This article covers some key points around frequency, working sets for beginners, intermediates and advanced as well as some great examples. Try it out and see the gains for yourself!

Claire came to me in September wanting to get stronger and learn how to lift - when we started deadlifts it was with a 16kg kettlebell and she battled injures along the way.
Her goal was to deadlift 60kg... This is a picture of her Personal best lifting 82.5kg - and already working towards her next goal to hit 100kg!
Never underestimate how far you can push yourself, and when you reach your target - make another!... Claire O' Mahony

Jamila, came to me wanting to lose some fat and gain some energy back, work life was taking over, she was working 80 hour weeks, feeling lethargic and just generally run down.
When we started training it was a real struggle at first - the weight wasn't moving. But she never quit - showing sheer dedication showing up to her 6am sessions and trusting the process.
Jamila Lost 15kgs and gained 3x her strength! Jamila has moved back home to New York City - competing in her first powerlifting competition and loving life. I couldn’t ask for a better client.

Monday Motivation! I've set myself some goals for this year and always use Monday as my springboard for the week to make sure I'm on track. My goals for 2018 are: 1. Be as freakishly strong and big as possible 2. Compete (and win!) in a powerlifting competition 3. Run more than 5km without having a heart attack! 4. Accomplish these goals while maintaining balance and not dedicate my every second to training
... Everything I do in my sessions are geared specifically towards my goals, too often I see coaches/trainers using a generic cookie cutter style with their clients they've spent no time and that doesn't consider key elements such as goals, age, intensity, volume etc. You should always ask yourself how does what you do in sessions help you reach your goals - or what could you add/eliminate to your sessions to help.
