Sydney Community Foundation Description
Sydney is Australia's leading economic, cultural and social hub. Yet among its five million people, a great social divide exists – extreme economic disadvantage and exclusion lives alongside wealth and prosperity. The most disadvantaged are Sydney’s young people at risk, women and children in need, the aged, Indigenous and culturally diverse communities.
Sydney Community Foundation pools donations from those who want to make a lasting difference to the lives of the people in their community. We use that pool to provide grants to fund innovative, community-led initiatives that respond to some of Sydney’s most pressing challenges. By giving through the Sydney Community Foundation, donors combine their gifts to build a growing and permanent endowment, a gift which continues to give over time, for the benefit of the Sydney community.
