Sydney Girls High School is an academically selective state school located in Surry Hills in the Centennial Parklands. The school was established in 1883 and is the oldest state girls school in New South Wales. The drawing area is very extensive with students coming from all areas of Sydney. Achievements cover academic, sporting, cultural and creative areas with many at national or international level. The school has excellent resources and it is at the forefront of technology initiatives with an extensive network system providing access to electronic resources. The school places a very high focus on ensuring quality learning and providing opportunities for gifted girls. The school culture is one of high expectations, where students are safe to take intellectual risks within a very supportive and caring environment.

Sydney Girls High School, is an academically selective public high school for girls located at Moore Park, in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Established in 1883 and operated by the New South Wales Department of Education and Communities, as a school within the Port Jackson Education Area of the Sydney Region, the school has approximately 940 students from Years 7 to 12 and is situated adjacent to its "brother school", Sydney Boys High School. In 2010, The Sydney Morning Herald ranked Sydney Girls High School fourth overall in NSW schools, based on NAPLAN scores. In relation to ATAR results, Sydney Girls High School was ranked third in New South Wales in 2006 and 2007; fourth in 2008 and 2009; fifth in 2010; sixth in 2011; fourth in 2012; sixth in 2013, fourth in 2014, and third in 2015. HistoryEstablished as Sydney High School in 1883, the school grounds were originally located on Elizabeth Street in the Sydney central business district, where the David Jones store now stands. At the time, the school building was two storeys, blocked off by a high wall. The ground floor was occupied by male students, while the females occupied the first floor. This was usual in the 1800s.

This school is great. Bigly. Period. It's almost as good as sydney boys. But they never use their canteen. Disappointing.

ANNNNYYYYWAYYYYYSSSS now onto the actual review SGHS is a fantastic school which is not only an academically inclined school but also a school which is athletically inclined and focuses on you (BEE YOU).

This is irrelevant but like can we introduce slurpees to the canteen bc why not (ye I am a fat unhealthy child who craves slurpees 24/7)

Our school colours represent the colours of our student body: white, yellow and brown. We're all nerds so lets just eat pizza, wontons and curry together and get along.

I know that I can only put 5 stars, but if I could I'd put 10 - Sydney Girls is awesome, the teachers are really nice and the students are hard-working and welcoming.
Haters will hate, BUT SYDNEY GIRLS WILL ALWAYS BE BETTER THAN NORTH SYDNEY GIRLS, YOU WANNABES.
