Bought some Audio Physic Virgo speakers off them and just excellent service, Very professional. Will be back

I have been shopping at Len Wallis for more than 25 years and decided to visit Sydney Hi Fi for some advice and to upgrade some of my equipment. I have found the service provided by Goran and the team to be outstanding. I already had a pretty good system but wanted to maximize its potential and Goran helped me with solutions that matched the quality of the existing components. I was even talked out of an expensive upgrade because Goran did not believe I would get "bang for buck". I have taken components home on the proviso that if they did not result in an improvement I could bring them back. My wife even said to me that she did not know what I had done but the now system sounds even more "awesome". If you are into good quality Hi Fi and want quality advice without feeling pressured then go and see Goran and the team.

Nice equipment, but arrogant and non-helpful. I was looking to buy a surround sound set of B&W speakers, most likely the CM series. The sales person started to immediately bag my Denon receiver, but still told me I should get the CM10 (most expensive front speakers). After repeated questioning it came out that he felt my receiver (RRP $1,800) was crap and barely worth hooking up to any speaker; "people just ditch them"; "they might be on sale when retailers are deperate to get rid of them". Also my DTS CD was "non-punchy" and a poor choice. So I gave him my USB flash drive with other audio I had selected. He couldn't get that to play in his regular player, and while it played in another of his players, he was unable to connect that to his Yamaha demo receiver (RRP ~2,500) to receive the sound. In the end we went back to my "crappy" DTS audio CD. Once he got that playing he walked out of the room, so I was now unable to switch between the different speakers. I went out to get him back in, but instead of being supported to test listen, I just got more lectures about audio formats "FLAC? You know that WAV is really the best format? there is a massive difference", better to have solid state disks than regular hard drives for streaming (again "massive difference in audio quality"!) and that vinyl is really the best anyway. At that point I had had enough and left. Guess where I will not go again and not buy my B&W surround speaker set (probably fronted by CM9...once I get to audition them properly somewhere)?

I have been a long time customer and over the years have acquired a lot of wonderful gear which broadened my understanding of music reproduction. Goren has been a true gentleman, knowledgeable and very patient, always happy to chat, explain or show something truly wonderful that's currently in the shop.
A truly wonderful place to visit and discover anew what it is to listen to music.

Great advice. Top quality hi Fi solutions, but the prices match.
