Sydney International Regatta Centre Description
The Sydney International Regatta Centre (SIRC) is one of Sydney’s most versatile sporting and recreation facilities. Home to one of the best rowing and sprint kayak courses in the world, the Centre won international acclaim while hosting the canoeing (sprint) and rowing during the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.
Set on 196 hectares of native and landscaped parkland the Centre is now a popular sporting, corporate and social venue and receives an average of 50 000 visitors each month.
SIRC facilities are available for training and casual use for activities such as rowing, canoeing, sailing, kite boarding, swimming, cycling and walking.
The venue regularly hosts events such as rowing and canoeing regattas, special water-based events such as fishing, sailing and dragon-boat races, triathlons, swimming, cycling, runs, car shows, conferences and seminars, community events and festivals.
SIRC is open to the public seven days a week (dependant on event requirements). The Centre is located in Penrith, 44km west of Sydney Olympic Park, Homebush Bay, and within one hours drive of Sydney’s central business district.
Reviews
This Saturday Southern Cross Cool Runnings will be bringing some canine action to SIRC. Dogs will be competing against each other to complete a custom built obstacle course. This is a FREE event to attend so come on down to see all of the action.

This Friday at the Regatta Centre there’s a unique 4-hour event for cycling enthusiasts. All you need is a working bicycle and safety gear to participate and complete as many laps in 4 hours on a 5km flat circuit. Register your interest https://cycle.lungfoundation.com.au

Always closed too the public on weekends, had plans to go there today checked the website earlier in the week and it said will be open after 10am, wake up today check it again just in case ( cause this isn’t the first time they have changed the open time before) and no surprise it’s closed until 1pm, completely throws my day out, seriously how hard is it too get the open times/days correct on the website!? It’s a beautiful place out there but you guys make it so hard to support and use with your poor scheduling and management.
